It'll be impossible to judge a new GM when they are named, purely based on their name. It'll have to play out over the next numerous months and years.

Pierre got 8 years. I'll give the new guy 2 until I praise or shit on him.
I will criticize any moves he makes that I find to be poorly thought out.

Highly doubt it.

They have in mind who they want. They will bring their guy in during the off-season.

I’d think it’s more likely he’s replaced than promoted.
Id be willing to bet he keeps his position and helps Staios during the interim. Why would he be replaced? Please elaborate.

His incompetence finally caught up with him. He did a few good things but nothing extraordinary. His chapter will be a dark one in the history of this team. See ya Pierre!

He will absolutely keep his position and help this year, and likely stay there.

I think he has a higher chance of being let go than he does at being promoted, the new GM is going to be an Andlauer and Staios hire.

@Ouroboros what nukes is Andlauer sending the NHL? I can't keep up at work.
Said he wasn't informed about the investigation during the sale, said the punishment was overly harsh, and two other team wanted their pound of flesh while the league was embarrassed, couldn't understand why he was inheriting the repercussions from past ownership. Said he was proud of how they kept things quiet and from leaking wrt Pinto but upset the stuff about Dorion being fired and team being punished was leaked, them suggested that since two other teams were involved that might explain it,

I think its good to have some continuity, he's good at his job. Letting him go for no good reason other than he's not an original hire doesnt make sense. You alluded to him being let go just wondered why. There will be good people that should stay on, they should identify those and add.

I don’t think he’s going to be let go, I was just expressing the chances of him becoming the GM are extremely, extremely low in my opinion, lower than him being completely let go.

Sounds true to me tbh. It's way too harsh a punishment, he's 100% right.

He didn’t seem too upset about the punishment, straight up said there was likely no point in appealing because everything was in the 73 page report. He said they were completely negligent, and it was completely avoidable.

He was upset about the way it was done without letting him know prior to, or even after buying the Sens. And rightfully so.

You could tell he was frustrated with how things went down, and at least from how he tells it, rightly so. But at the same time, he acknowledged that all of this and some other issues were all avoidable. He may have been alluding to some things like the DBC trade, or the cap crunch, but wasn't specific.

Oh yeah like what take away a first round pick? Lay down the longest suspension in NHL history? Oh wait.
The NHL looks pretty bad in that they did not inform Andlauer about either investigation. Really curious to see what action MI takes but regardless there will be some serious talk behind closed doors. . Wouldn't be surprised to see that 1st round pick adjusted to a third down the road.
