I don't recall Freddy ever having a stretch this bad. Keefe said he's been 'dealing with some things.' I'm willing to cut the guy some slack in light of the stellar play he's been giving the Leafs up until now. I know what he's capable of and I expect him to get back to that level. Maybe the Leafs should run with Campbell when he's back and give Freddy some rest.
Give him some slack?

Freddie's been shit since last season. How long is Keefe and others going to stand up for him? Is it going to take another first round exit for management to figure it out?

The biggest reason Dubois wanted out of Columbus was because of money...he ain't getting JT money because he's not a UFA and not nearly as good.
Looks li Keefer lost confidence in his #2 Center. He was on Mathews line a lot in the 3rd period.

Last time he was "stellar" for more than a game or two in a row was 18/19.

He's 31 with chronic groin injuries and severe concentration/confidence problems, I'll let you guess which direction his career is going from here.

I think maybe I need to explain my Freddy position better. Some people seem to imply he's just one more player and his contribution is no different than any other player's. I absolutely don't see it like that. I see it as sometimes the team bails the goalie out and sometimes the goalie bails the team out. Fred *never* bails the team out. Ever. Ever ever. In fact, it's the exact opposite. He lets them down over and over.

Honestly wonder if players were to have accidentally on purpose sort of incidents with these zebras that they would look to change things. Them not doing their jobs affects players safety. Just throwing it out there

Go look at Calgary's penalty differential before and after the Wideman incident. Took them a year after he left to recover.

Maybe not but you can use the difference in cap to upgrade further.

Either way, Tavares making top 5 in the NHL money is embarassing. We're stuck with that one.

He was peaked in 2015 when he and the Ducks were one game away from reaching the Finals. It has been all downhill since.

Can't wait for the goal-by-goal excuses for Freddy.
1st goal he was blinded by a light in the rafters
2nd goal his dog ate the pregame notes
3rd goal he was dehydrated
4th goal someone yelled Fore !
5th goal , he thought he was doing a good thing letting in 5
in fact if there was more time left , he was going to let in 7

I was wondering this...

Was a new rule implemented recently or has the League been reviewing whether or not a hand-pass occurred before a possible goal was scored for years? I didn't know the League did that. Obviously I knew the League reviewed whether or not an offside was missed prior to a possible goal.

My reaction to the review on the disallowed goal was, "WTF? Since when does the NHL review if there was a hand-pass?"

Look no further how Potvin, Cujo and Balfour steal games for the team back in the days.

One a scoring real elite one and the other a tough greasy two way one
Broken record

also please !!!!
The Kerplunk experiment is over I hope
No matter where he plays it sux
When a player has been tried at 3 different positions on 4 lines
Some say versatile
Others would say , he’s crap

Would have been nice if Freddy could have helped out his team when they weren’t at their best. He hasn’t stolen are game for us yet this year that I can remember but the team scored enough to win a few that he almost cost them.

As for the refs I suppose both penalties were penalties but they didn’t call the game tight until the last 5 minutes for some reason. There has to be consistency and there’s not at all. The Hyman play happens 20 times a game so why call it then when it wasn’t really that atrocious.

Luckily the schedule is pretty light for the next 10 days after tomorrow, they could use a little rest and practice by the looks of it.

Watching Maple Leafs vs. Senators Game 7 2001-02 Playoffs instead of Edm game.

Boy I miss Cujo. (And Bob Cole).

Things have been going too well this season, have to expect some bumps in the road.

the question is can they rally and regain their form. I think they will. Some rest and practice will help a lot.

The Leafs seemed to enjoy playing in front of Campbell and to a lesser extent Hutchinson. With Andersen is very much walking eggshells.

Cambell has a fight to him he may let one in but elevates/fights to keep the next one out.
Anderson doesnt have it. There is something weird about how Fred gives up the first goal consistently.
