Has that injury been nagging since November 2019? That is pretty much how long he has been playing at this level. If an injury were hampering him that much, he shouldn't be in the net. We can find a goalie who can bring more than the .850 efforts he has brought the past handful of games.

He was really good under Babcock, but it is painfully obvious that whatever he had, he no longer has.

I don't recall Freddy ever having a stretch this bad. Keefe said he's been 'dealing with some things.' I'm willing to cut the guy some slack in light of the stellar play he's been giving the Leafs up until now. I know what he's capable of and I expect him to get back to that level. Maybe the Leafs should run with Campbell when he's back and give Freddy some rest.

Jumbo's character is nice but he's hard to find fits and accommodate in the lineup sometimes, mostly because of the lack of speed. If everyone were healthy the odd healthy scratch would be good to keep him fresh. Managing minutes is obviously beneficial for Spezza and it really would be for Jumbo as well.

The interesting thing is the game falls apart on an Andy misplay and then gets iced where he's best clean from another player on his proper side.

Maybe? Give me Dubois at his cap hit vs Tavares at his cap hit everyday of the week and twice on Sundays. He does next to nothing every 3 of 4 games.

The biggest reason Dubois wanted out of Columbus was because of money...he ain't getting JT money because he's not a UFA and not nearly as good.

I agree. If Campbell or another goalie plays better, you go with him. I get that it's a business and winning is valued above all else. It just bothers me reading some of the irrational hot takes directed at Andy. He really doesn't deserve some of the things being said.

I personally think this is a good thing, Jets are likely the team Leafs will have the hardest time against and I want to ensure I don’t get hyped up for this team being a contender rather than a pretender. If they suck all season against them then atleast I’ll have lower expectations

Just finished watching the game. The better team won tonight no question. The active sticks of the jet's tonight were unreal, it's were not.
Got beat by a back up goalie once again, I think we lead the league in that department.
Rielly has to be one of the dumbest players I have ever seen. All the ability in the world but dumb play after dumb play. Muffin shot doesnt cut it either.
Our plays tonight were very slow developing too, just too slow in general.
If the top two lines don't score, we dont win. We have no secondary scoring.
In a word we got schooled badly.

I will give you that the third period was the one period we didn't look as good as them. But garbage penalties were a factor as was medicore goaltending. The 3rd and 4th goals were both very stoppable. I don't think this team has a lot of confidence in Andersen at this point.

That's Raycroft territory. But at least Raycroft made some timely saves that season when he had 36 wins.
