Post-Game Talk: Don't worry folks, Andersen won't play tomorrow night.

We don’t get straight up outplayed too often, but we did tonight. The refs f***ed us too, and Andersen was fairly weak, but the Jets were also the better team tonight.

Overall, one of our weakest efforts all year. We really need to see a much better effort tomorrow. The top line underperformed, Dermott had a pretty bad game, and we just weren’t good as a team.

I’d also give Matthews some rest. Filthy OT goal aside, he clearly hasn’t been himself since returning from injury, just let him rest that wrist.

Completely disagree. That game was pretty overall. The penalties late made it lopsided. Andersen no fault on goals 1 and 2. Goals 3 and 4 weren't exactly weak but they were both very stoppable. This entire series Winnipeg has gotten the saves and we haven't. That was no differently really tonight.

As for Matthews. Docs have said he will be able to heal while playing and he was the least our of problems. He should continue playing. He could've easily had a couple tonight

I hope they put Andersen back in tomorrow. Andersen really needs more practice anyways.
Tkachuck and Stutzle will light him up tomorrow. I am expecting another loss to Ottawa. Don’t want to blame it on goaltending but I think it really took a bite out of the Leafs confidence and momentum. The team was playing great taking care of Edmonton and then Winnipeg comes in and took all the winning away from
Toronto because of their awesome goalie. Leafs are playing way better defensively this year but now their goaltending really sucks.

This was the closest thing to a 'thrown' game I've ever seen. Leafs seemed like they wanted to lose. Of course, I don't think that's the case but the effort tonight was very suspect. Coach is gonna tear them a new one.

It pains me to read all the Andy hate. The guy is playing with a nagging injury of some kind. He's been bailing the team out for years, constantly covering up defensive lapses. He's struggling but the team needs to play MUCH better.

I love and appreciate Freddy and I always will!

Hockey is a what have you done for me lately game...we all remember Fred standing on his head in games but your reputation doesn’t mean sht when you’re losing...I’m a platoon guy and you go with the hot hand come playoff time

Who cares. Watch the game.

If you think they were anywhere close to us the past 2 games then give your head a shake.

All I got from this series is Hellebuyuk has to play out of his mind for them to stay in the game when we are on our game. We played like shit today.
here is the thing,,you think it's some lesser kind of win when it's the star tender that does it but oddly enough when it's a star forward,,no one blinks an eye

This loss is on Keefe.

Guy cannot coach or prep his team IMO.

Getting sick of him sticking with jt-nylander and matthews-marner duos especially when offense isnt coming. Absolutely PATHETIC tognight by keefe doesnt change much while jets outshoot the leafs

getting sick of Keefe's coaching
Yeah, Keefe's fault Andersen has sucked since the 2019 All-Star Break. Lol.

Thornton looked really good for a stretch but has struggled since returning from his latest injury. I really don't like having him and Tavares on the same line. They're both slow.

Entire team was bad, but Andersen is still awful and nobody will ever win with him. He's just not an elite NHL goalie anymore if he ever was, he doesn't have the reflexes and his positioning hasn't been good enough to make up for it. And he will always play below his capabilities in big moments he has since 2016 when they set the NHL record for most blown 3rd period leads.

It's funny but i hated Dubas last season but i actually have confidence in him attempting to address the goaltending. I still don't believe he will potentially tie his career to Andersen again.

I have zero faith in Keefe at the moment, i don't think he's doing a poor job he's been mostly good, but similar to Andersen when things start to go off the rails under him they seem to turn into a complete disaster. And like with Andersen, in the playoffs i think even if he does a good job odds are he'll be the 2nd best coach in the series.

In any playoff match the Leafs are facing two goalies. The opposition trying to stop them and Fredlight trying to give away the series.

I wonder if Fred is still hurt. Despite what you read on these boards he usually plays like a steady 1A goaltender, but he just hasn't had it these past few weeks.

Either way, unacceptable effort tonight by the Leafs. Brossoit did not look solid yet they barely tested him. The penalties at the end of the game sucked big time, especially the Hyman one, and Keefe shouldn't lose his cool like that. In some ways it's cool to fire up your team, but he also conceded the loss there with 4 minutes left. There's aspiring coaches out there who would dream to be given a chance with a team down by 2 with less than 5 left to really let loose and show some creativity, but instead he gave it away.

He's a smart coach though so he will learn from his mistakes and the rest of the team can too. We need better goaltending to right the ship and for Matthews to get better. In the meantime I'd also like Mo and JT, two of our main leaders, step up and inspire the Leafs with their play. JT has been good while Mo has been lackluster.
Smart move by Ehlers there, that was such a bad call on Rielly. Hyman call was crap too, good for him showing some emotion & letting the refs know that's unacceptable. Can make excuses about some calls but this team also sucked tonight too, Andersen with the MVP of it.

Have a feeling Sabourin plays tomorrow. Came out with absolute fire in his short Marlies debut. Called back up to the taxi squad. Back to back games, from the Ottawa area, played for the Senators. Keefe is mindful of players hometowns and former teams and usually tries to accommodate if it makes sense. Sabourin in for Boyd tomorrow, calling it now

Skillotor wins, this is suck bullshit

I like it. Giving them nick names removes another layer of anonymity.

We won't forget you Skillotor.

Kendrick Nicholson #30

might need a nickname for him too seeing as he officiated in the last game too.

Tell Fred not to even make the trip to Ottawa. Won’t be necessary. Give him a spa day or something, I don’t f***ing know... try anything to get this guy back on his game. 4 games straight sub .900... there are no excuses. Stop the f***ing biscuit. Every goal could have been stopped if he just tracked the f***ing puck. Do you ever notice how pucks just seem to hit good goalies? Well the never seem to hit Freddy at this point

I agree. I've never seen the team cheer him on after a win like they do with Campbell. I'm still not comfortable with the idea of Campbell being a starting goalie but i wouldn't mind a 1a/1b tandem if we managed to get another above average starting goalie. I'm crossing my fingers that maybe Dubas can get us Gibson from Anaheim.
As much as i would love to see Campbell take the starting job, it's a big 'if'

The problem with Campbell is that he's always had injury problems - last year and again this year. I'm afraid you can't rely on him to stay in the lineup.
