Mika is my no 1 star tonight tho. Worked his socks off
Certainly our best players WERE our best players.
Could it be true what GG said? I am disappointed with my group's effort (Seattle), we cant pick and choose when we feel like playing". Or, something like that.
Seems they got the message, OR simply fell in line and he is RIGHT.
Happy, thrilled and SHOCKED for Stromer........kudos
Happy, thrilled and NOT shocked for Laffy. He is getting it, gonna have a great 2nd half and more like what we were hoping for. He's gonna watch a LOT of tape, and hit the gym.

Statement win! I think this establishes this team as a top 3 Eastern Conference team. The best part of the game is the contributions up and down the lineup. Each guy was doing their role and it’s exactly what you as a fan should want to see and it’s exactly what the coaching staff wants to see.

It’s ok to celebrate the good times- as Rangers fans we know they don’t always occur!
If this were any other year, I would be super excited about our chances in the playoffs. But it seems this year there is a great disparity amongst teams. Just look at the eastern standings. It's like the 8 teams have already clinched a playoff spot halfway through the season. There are some really good teams this year and the rest are garbage. Never seen such disparity before. And then there are some really good teams like Avs and Canes who look almost unbeatable. So it seems, no matter who we play in the post-season, we will have our hands full. There will be no easy opponents in the first round, of that I am sure.

I guess then, now is the time to celebrate what a great season we are having. We are playing way above any expectations we had going in. Gallant has done a great job getting these guys to believe in one another. Yeah we might have a Norris Trophy winner, and a Breadman, and a superstar in Zibad, but it all starts with having the best goalie in the NHL. He could be the key to any success we have in the postseason.

Gauthier has been noticeable in a mostly-good way and that’s pretty impressive considering he only gets about 3 shifts a period. He has improved a lot with minimal action. I’m very happy with him.
Love when he throws his body. He has had some huge hits.

I’m looking forward to our players getting some playoff experience. Curious to see how Adam Fox adjusts to that tighter style of hockey now that he has some experience under his belt.

Having the top goal scorer this late in the season doesn’t even seem real. Now that he scores mostly on deflections that seems more slump proof than relying on odd man rushes and long shots.
I think I was the 1st to claim he will easily get 40, and most likely get his 50+ exactly for that reason. He ALWAYS gives the majority of credit to Zibs, Panarin, Stromer, Fox etc. for his easy goal.........not really easy, he DESERVES all the attention he will get throughout the league.

Reminding me of Graves with his "all of a sudden" 50 goal season.
Before him was Hadfield, Espo and Jagr that seemed to station themselves and "collect the garbage".
Witb Kreids, much more skill from his teammates though, me thinks.

The broadcast crew was painful to listen to last night. Every other sentence was Florida’s offense can _____________ any moment. Way to drive the point home.

Also still cannot believe this year’s team was compared to what it must have felt like watching the Rangers during the dark ages. Yes you heard that right, this year’s team with 64 points on Groundhog’s Day was compared to that recurring spinal tap that was 1998-2004.

I actually like the PBP guy Bob Whatshisname, I think he’s good. I hate Boucher and Mleczko is just kind of blah.

Christ and now Buccigross in the postgame the FIRST thing he says is that the Rangers are bad against playoff teams and then reads out an incorrect record for good measure, he said they’re now 9-12-1 but they were 9-11-1 going into tonight so they’re actually 10-11-1. That’s a third of their wins on the season. Is that really that bad?

7-2 vs top 4 teams in the Atlantic too.

10-4 vs playoff teams with Shesterkin in net.

Wouldn’t want the facts to get in the way of the narrative though.
Yeah, and the chick said Kreider ended up with 32 goals, WRONG.
THEY also picked on the Panthers on whether or not they would be able to play PO hockey and much more the same.
I dont understand the negativity, even if it might be true.

by far best game of the season...first period was scrambly

after that everything about the game was impressive ... took the game to florida at points, pp came up huge, limited long shifts in our zone, odd mans against, and high quality chances...really went toe to toe with what i think is the leagues best team. physically too was very impressed with our pushback when they wanted to mix it up..never got out of hand but there was no give and we were hard on them.

mika especially was very, very good...dont think ive ever seen him that physical/aggressive on pucks in all 3 zones. d were very solid overall, remarkable how poised schneider is already. laf keeps getting better, not just the goal but his play on and off the puck was great. will be nice to get kakko back but laf should stay in that spot w/ kreider and mika. lastly, the forward group is better without chytil in the lineup.

I thought Dryden Hunt was everywhere tonight too, his best game since before his injury.
He has been shit on for HF reasons. Initially he was VERY GOOD on forecheck before injury, but never should see 1st or 2nd lines, prob not even 3rd. Regardless, he isnt BAD per sé.

Does that one count guys and without Kakko, Chytil, and Fox? And we can't beat good teams also right? Forget the fact that we beat Tampa, Toronto, and Florida twice, also beat Boston, Nashville, Duck, Kings....
Should’ve seen the things Cats fans were saying. Pretty much nothing different than Wyshinki’s hit piece the other day. We suck, we rely on Igor, our team is putrid. Yea, because high octane pond hockey wins in the playoffs. Don’t forget that the minute you go and forecheck and become the aggressor against teams like Toronto and Florida they suddenly wilt.

Special shoutout to the linesmen the last two games who need to gtfo of the league. Last night was the faceoff Nazi; tonight I think the guys were colorblind and didn't know which were the bluelines. Panthers were offsides like 7 times without a stoppage. Lazy me only took one screengrab tho:

Yea, their board doesn’t think it was offsides. I’m assuming they were watching the game with a blindfold on.

Rangers are 4-1 against the two “contenders” in Tampa and Fla

oh and if I add the other two “contenders” in the Atlantic in Toronto and Boston we’re…..

7-2
But it’s always an excuse from opposing fans or that this team can’t beat this team or that team. If people, our fans especially, just understood that you’re going to have good and bad games, they’d be much happy.

Laf just has to go to the net on rushes and keep scoring those dirty goals. From there itll blossom. Start simple and get those goals and his game will round. I have faith as longs as hes kept with Krieder and Zib. They will certainly help his game. He’s already pretty confident for a kid, imagine his swagger when hes starts scoring consistently?
His cheeks will glow like shiny apples.

You haven’t looked at who is on the fourth line of cup winners.

Even our Cup loser had guys like Pouliot and Moore who were better than Hunt clearly.
2013-2014 had a great fourth line - Moore, Boyle and either Dorsett or Carcillo.

Pouliot was with Zucc & Brassard. They also had it going on.

I literally had to make a name in order to say this because nobody else did.

Too many people were bitching about Lafreniere's goal the other night from Zibanejad not even realizing that's how Kreider has f***ing scored most of his goals this year.

Like, come on.

A goal is a goal, whether Lafreniere is sniping them or getting garbage goals. It shows a knack for knowing where to go, and it's not as if his shot is lacking either. He's got one of the best shots on the team.
We would kill for Kakko to have 10 tap ins right now.

Braden Schneider is like a Ryan McDonagh clone. It's nuts.

Morgan Barron started to get more comfortable as the game progressed. His size and strength down low were evident. As he gains confidence things will improve but he looked pretty good.

Gauthier with another strong game keeping his legs moving and drawing a penalty. He has been more physical as well.
