I want a multi-cup dynasty, if such a thing even exists in a salary cap league. And like, what I'm asking isn't difficult. It's really not.
Tampa didn't get Kucherov with a high pick. Everyone Dallas picks is good. Minnesota found Kaprisov in a f***ing cereal box. Sam f***ing Reinhart has 139 points since the start of last season. Edmonton gets McDavid and then they get f***ing Draisaitl. Brayden Point was like a 99th round pick. So was Jesper Bratt.
We had picks 7, 9, 2, and 1, all forwards, and couldn't make it happen.
It seems like great forwards just pop up everywhere but here.
I'm not even saying I want a multi-Cup dynasty. I'm saying give me a nice core that's fun and that I can rely on, and then we'll see how we paper in the holes and where luck takes us.
yeah another thing just continues to blow my mind. You've got a top 3 D in the league and are just tying a boat anchor to himView attachment 950493
It can’t be understated how much better they’d be if they literally just scratch Lindgren. He is quite literally off the charts bad
Took me a minute to find him.View attachment 950493

That's pushing a boulder up a sheet of ice. They'll find something.I want a multi-cup dynasty, if such a thing even exists in a salary cap league.
I want to shut rival fans up.
Our team's history is f***ing horrendous. We have finished dead last in the league more than any other club. (Granted, much of that in the O6 era.)
We've been around 100 years and gotten what? Laughed at.
Can you imagine how much more relevant hockey as a sport would be if the team in New York had been even halfway decent in the 50s and 60s and 70s? My god...
I think you need an owner who cares and is willing to spend $$ but also wants to find the best hockey mind to run the team and then step backI want a multi-cup dynasty, if such a thing even exists in a salary cap league.

But he has a fun moustache and scored that last second goal against Buffalo 78 years ago that is in every pre-game highlight pack in the arena.Took me a minute to find him.
This is another vestige of New York Rangers hockey that needs to go in the great fire. Falling head over heels in love with terrible players because they were good for five minutes playing with your best player.
And they get WORSE every time too! This schmuck makes Girardi look like Paul Coffey,
At a certain point, values have to matter more than hockey. And not that I would support or dislike hiring Coach Q at this stage because off-the-ice stuff aside, he wasn't that impressive in Florida, but I just have a strong feeling this is where we'll pivot.
But seriously, before they do anything, they need to get rid of Drury
It can’t be stressed enough how whiffing on all 4 of those picks will set this team back about a decade. Stop putting money into dancers like Panarin and pour as much money as you can into an All Star scouting staff. And like, what I'm asking isn't difficult. It's really not.

Especially when it's obvious that Q isn't going to push this team over the top.At a certain point, values have to matter more than hockey.
Well that ship has sailed and you know what I mean.At a certain point, values have to matter more than hockey.

I'd change the name in a heartbeat. The fact that it's all just a play on "Texas Rangers" is dumb. Maybe NY and Utah can turn it into a cool unveiling event where the Rangers reveal an entirely new roster too. Why?
I'm ready to change everything but the city and the name.

I'm very sad that I do.Well that ship has sailed and you know what I mean.
one more time, no, it’s not. It’s not “random” that the Rangers have never developed a star forward in 100 yearsDon't forget hitting scratchers on Pavel Datsyuk and Henrik Zetterburg (one more time for everyone, hockey development is largely random).

Right, and you can chalk some of that up to luck, but they should have been aggressive in making big trade swings as soon as that become apparent,The rebuild died when Laff and Kakko never became superstars. And their one shrewd pick with Chytil and his dumb concussion luck was the nail in the coffin. Everything else is window dressing.
