GDT: Four Nations

I was going to ask if we will have our own

4 Nations thread…

nice 👍

Saw in some interviews to all players.
“ Who are you looking forward to seeing, playing with or against”

response by the Jets Players

KC >>> JMO
JMO >>> Helly
Helly >>> KC

😅😅😅

Obviously we cheer for Canada
but hope Helly and KC does well also.

perfect scenario for me

Canada wins it vs USA

canada shots 50 on Helly lets in 2 goals only
with 10 breakaway saves

USA have 1 goal from KC

JMO shuts down Matthews line

The #1 center of the best team in the league all year,
Who is top 15 in scoring
and top goal scorer that is Canadian

in probably if not the currently best line in the league
who gets the best dmen against him night in and night out.

Is not on team Canada’s team???? 🤔

Besides Helly
this guy carries the team on his back numerous nights alredy…

To be fair to Canada when the roster was selected it was fair to not have 55 in there. But you'd think there'd be some flexibility to allow the player into the Canada roster. Team Canada bottom-6 leaves something to be desired when compared to USA. 55 would have provided them a lot of flexibility esp if Crosby is not up to full health or if someone in the top-6 doesn't fire.

The wingers hes competing against are all within a couple points of him and wing is their natural position. We are talking about a incredibly short 4 game tournament. I don't really see an issue taking natural wingers that score just as well given the format.

Reinhart has 62 points, Hagel 62, Marner 71, Konecny 61, if Mack plays RW then he has 87. That is 3 RW with more points then him and a few within 2 points of him.

It's not the grave injustice people make it out be. They aren't bringing him to play LW where Canads is weaker.

But any C can play wing without there being much of a drop off from a full time Winger. I would not be worried about him playing wing on his off hand either. Marner and Reinhart are the only wingers that I would pencil in ahead of 55 and with Marner it is due to his ability to play on the PK.

Sorted by goals from the day team Canada was announced (December 5) thru the present.

It was arguably fair on December 5th that Scheifele's omission was deserved, but even then a little suspect. He's since led all Canadian players in goals scored, so this is a snub of the highest degree.

I don't see Finland factoring in to this tournament very much. Looking at their defense alone, now without Miro Heiskanen, makes it look like the defense of a good NHL team and not the defense of a top-tier, best-of-the-best tournament team.
