I don't think that this coaching staff is capable of making any PK strategy changes so all improvements or deterioration on those areas comes from Bob. If they're able to negate the cross-ice passes in the d-zone then their PK% should go up by at least little. These past few months those setup passes hasn't been a problem for Bob as he's still able to make saves on those one-timer shots.

Like I previously said, the Panthers will be winning this series because the loss in this game1 has to be significantly demoralizing for them.

Best PK improvement for the team is negating some of these untimely penalties.
Wanted a split and to take game 1 so very impressed so far.

So did Carolina. Ekbkad hit the post and Lundell hit the crossbar (maybe with a high stick?).

No doubt, not taking anything away from Bobrovsky but you need lucky bounces here and there.

My issue with goalie interference is that the call is impossible to guess. I don't even really disagree with calling it no goal but on November 23, 2023 in a game between Buffalo and Ottawa this exact same play will happen again and they'll call it a good goal. Just want some consistency.

edit @WaitingForThatCab wizard lol

There have been rumblings on twitter he got hurt early round 2 vs Leafs.
I've heard this too, something to do with his wrist. Honestly that kind of adds up for me considering where I've seen him struggle the most isn't with positioning or anything, and more on the little and finite plays he usually makes with his stick handling.

It's like he can't quite do what he wants with the puck and what he's usually capable of. Definitely seems like it's something in his hands/wrist area.

Sucks, I think Dubas is an absolute fraud loser geek. I wanted Toronto to continue to suffer as he brings in more gutless forwards at $10m/year.
Man, he did everything he could for that team this year. That roster was absolutely stacked on paper. They should've spanked us but the players and coaches just didn't execute.

Ya he made mistakes but literally every GM does, but this year really showed me that the group of players the Leafs have, their core, is just a bunch of wannabes and softies, not made for pressure situations. Poor guy just unknowingly drafted a bunch of puss!es.

I think the Leafs roster is horribly constructed and the team was blown out of the water in 5 games by the Florida Panthers, a team that is hamstrung by awful contracts signed by Dale Tallon during a drunk spending spree on his way out of town.

I watched the Tkachuk 4OT winner again. Mainly the zone entry. The angle isn’t good, but I’m now satisfied that it wasn’t really even close to offsides.

Initially I thought Ekblad passed to Bennett who slowed down getting the puck across the blue line, and Tkachuk jumped too quick into the zone.

But I now see that Ekblad didn’t pass after all. Or maybe he tried to pass, but in any case the puck went straight into the zone. Partly deflected by a CAR player, but I’m convinced now it was before Tkachuk went in.

Still would like to see a different camera angle of it, from the opposite board side.

I believe a lot more after this game.

Carolina were suffocating and have a very good defensive group. But they didn't scare me as much as Toronto with their forwards.
I think we will be ok as long as Florida stays out of the box. Carolina's PP was 20th this year which is very mediocre but they still dunked on Florida. And they have an elite PK. They definitely win special teams wise. I am a big fan of the aggressive tactic the Canes and Bruins use to kill penalties, I don't know why Florida is so passive, it hasn't worked all year.

I know their PP scored on 2 chances, but it didn't scare me too much. One was on a 5 on 3 after all.

Their PK is so good. I don't think we would score on a 5 minute major! Already said this, but they could take a lot more liberties against us. It's a tactic I would try and use if I was Carolina.

So I don’t think I slept more than a hour. Not working today so I’ll sleep and boom I have my local basketball team to watch. Mind you I have more interest in the Panthers as they go on their quest to win their first Stanley Cup. The Heat have been there done that as well as the Marlins and Dolphins and Hurricanes. I’m in Sports heaven and relish where we are having two teams in the conference championship in their perspective leagues.

Quick notes: I’m watching a podcast on youtube with a Devils fan saying how they must adapt their new philosophy to how the Panthers have it.
BTW I’m surprised how many hockey fans from other markets talk about the Leaf fans chanting “We want Florida”
Lastly I thought our physicality matched the big bad Hurricanes. You could see it in their faces.
Surpassed them, they stopped throwing hits in OT, we didn't.

"We can and we will"... "Okay, any job openings for me?"

Dubass signed their top dogs to sweetheart deals and they didn't live up to their contracts. Can't blame him for their shortcomings and I can't wait the Laughs to hire Chiarelli to be their next GM.

I'm not a fan of Dubas, but Leafs gonna Leaf.
