This cruise almost destroyed me haha. Woke up in the morning, then go to do some shopping and first thing I heard from a random conversation was "hey did you hear already, the first Florida game went to OT4". I was like nooo, I don't wanna hear more, closed my ears and ran to some bar where was wifi, to watch the highlights. Then huge screaming when we scored, absolutely amazing feeling.

It took me about 2h to only read this 63 pages but definitely gonna watch the whole game when get back home. Great start boys!

Kinda funny reading all over people saying how tired they are staying up till 2am.
Games usuallly dont even start at 2am for us euros Were f***ing nuts over here when you think about it.
I dont remember how many times I've gone to work sleeping 2-3 hours in a night watching Panthers games since you were able to online 15+ years ago

My thoughts on the game:

Barkov looked good. Especially those first two periods. Very positive and I loved his celebration when he scored the goal. Later in the game he was being more defensive, but he had to be.

Tkachuk looked like arse. Might have been the worst I've seen him play as a Panther. So of course he scores the game winner. Go figure.

We were definitely the better team in OT. We deserved the win.

I thought it was a weak goaltender interference, but in the end, it was still goaltender interference.

Carolina's PK is ridiculously good. I wonder how Edmonton's PP would have looked against it. I don't have much faith of us scoring a PP goal this series! I'm surprised Carolina don't take more liberties considering how good their PK is.

Carolina only scored on the PP! But I didn't think it looked that dangerous. One was 5-3 after all.

Lomberg brought notable energy to the 4th line.

What an epic game. I thought the game winner was offside originally.

This just screams bullshit though and why I simply cannot trust analytics. Not taking anything away from Bob, he was absolutely unbelievable but so was Freddie in OT.

The Panthers dominated overtime and had about 4-5 high quality chances they probably should've scored on. Way more dangerous then the eventual GWG.

Carolina was the better team in the 1st and 3rd but for them to "deserve to win" over 70% of these games? Complete bullshit. Florida dictated play for over half the game lol. Canes look very pedestrian offensively 5 on 5.

I don't agree with this at all, Florida was the better team 5 v 5. I honestly think the 3rd period and 4th OT were the only 2 periods they were outplayed.

I'm gonna be honest? I think after like the third overtime, they probably should do that. At some point you have to worry about guys collapsing on the ice. PoMo said about as much during his presser last night.

The Lombo goal should have counted - that is just not enough contact by White, and it did not really prevent Andresen from making the save 4 seconds later. The refs sucked a** last night, all the crosschecking calls (2 against us, 1 against them) were so poor. Their performance can make too much of a difference when the gap between two teams' special teams is so big. Fortunately neither one of the teams gave them too many other occasions for bad calls.

I remember why I hate CAR: the constant whining. I usually love me my Finnish players, but Aho is the Finnish Sidney Crosby.

Bob was absolutely fantastic. If we win the cup, he'll win the Conn Smythe.
Lombo makes a big positive difference on the 4th line. Barky was great, as was Duke (if he showed just a little bit more intensity on the boards or in front of the net though...), Monty and the Reinhart line.

CAR looks very beatable, I thought we got better the longer the game went on. The only real anchor tonight was MStaal - as usual. Can't wait for the day we replace him. But I'd be ok if he left us after this season with a SC ring on his finger

I also thought that the Lomberg goal should have counted. Goaltender Interference is stupid and totally arbitrary. With another official in charge, it probably gets ruled a good goal and everybody goes home two hours earlier.

My issue with goalie interference is that the call is impossible to guess. I don't even really disagree with calling it no goal but on November 23, 2023 in a game between Buffalo and Ottawa this exact same play will happen again and they'll call it a good goal. Just want some consistency.

It was a fairly called game in which I think the Canes got most of the breaks. Barkov got absolutely mugged to the ice in overtime pretty blatantly after the Verhaeghe hook and they let it go.

I'm not going to complain about the officiating in this one, but, uh, the zebras definitely did more good for the Canes than for the Panthers.
