This is a good thing assuming he's out of Russia safely.
Except Fedotov, and it is because of his mistake, nobody has problems to arrive from Russia. Only one problem, people must fly from other countries so that come to the US because of sanctions. There is no need to make an elephant out of a fly.

No doubt he is.. recent pictures his neck looks like Jordan Tootoo

First thing that jumps to my mind from that video is- Game Wrecker.

He looks like the type of player we so desperately need. The kind of player with a combination of skill, grit, and snarl. The kind of player everyone on the opposing team needs to keep an eye on at all times because he might take your head off or put the puck in the back of your net at any moment. That is exactly the type of player I've wanted here for years.

Since's he got the visa, I'm assuming its mostly clear. I think it just a matter of getting on a plane and getting here via whatever method that is and whenever he chooses to come. Who is to say if something might come up to complicate that.

Voronkov is a player who is still playing at 100%. He loves the physical game, he seeks it out and doesn't care who plays against him. I would compare to Matthew Tkachuk in this. He wins fights, has pretty good hockey IQ, shot, hand-eye coordination. One knows how to clear space for his teammates, is a real warrior. Importantly, he can be more strenght. Since he played in Ak Bars under Zinetula Bilyaledtinov he has acquired very good defensive habits. At ZB only those players play PK who can really defend, play without the puck, can react to different situations. Although we can say it about Dmitri Kvartalnov too. Of course, the NHL is a different level, but the potential is very good. I think Dima is very underrated.

I was kinda referring to the fact he may take alot of penalties...
Not quite. In the KHL, they often get suspended for things they don't even notice in the NHL. This applies to all of European hockey. Besides, he has not a few minutes for fighting.

Interesting fact:

From 2009-2014 the Jackets didn’t draft any Russians.

Since then we have drafted:

2015 6th round - Gavrikov
2017 3rd round - Tarasov
2018 2nd round - Marchenko
2019 4th round - Voronkov
2020 1st round - Chinakhov
2021 5th round - Makarov
2022 4th round - Dolzhenkov, 5th round - Ivanov

The jury is obviously still out on the 2021 and 2022 picks, but if Voronkov plays in the NHL we have had a remarkable run of successful Russian scouting and drafting.

The last Russian drafted by the Jackets not to play in the NHL was AndreI Plekhanov who was drafted in the 3rd round in 2004.

Also known as "the guy who convinced Viqsi she couldn't do amateur scouting for shit and so she's going to just rely on other people's reports from now on". :)

Sweet. Hope we get to see him deck someone, steal the puck, and score. Watch the forums explode. :D

Are you implying that with the third overall pick the CBJ are proud to select…
