So far it looks like Denmark and Latvia will be the main contenders for promotion.

Isn't Belarus a serious contender too? They have many players left from last year inlcluding top scorer Gavrus etc..

I think Slovenia and Poland with their underage Rosters won't see any chances here.

Yes, they are also serious contenders, but i would bet my money on either of the other two. Either way, i want to see how both of them will perform today.

First game is over and Belarus stomped Slovenia 7-3

Artur Gavrus with 2+1, including a shorthanded goal

Yes, they will help us big time...but only next year in D2B against China, Iceland, Australia, Spain...:laugh:

You can easily beat Estonia. As bad as Croations are Estonians without Rooba are even worse.

Can anyone elaborate on how Poland are expected to do?

It's huge surprise they got promoted last year but it was thanks to their "golden generation" (Starzynski, Guzik, Domogala). But this team is not bad either, surely they are no match for teams like Denmark or Latvia, but they can fight against Austria and I expect them to win over Slovenia.

Not really. They lack depth and don't really have game-breakers at this level other than Gavrus. Meanwhile Latvians have superb goaltending, 4 guys who are close to PPG in the CHL and really good depth. With Bukarts and Bluegers in the line-up they would dominate everyone in this tournament, really too bad they didn't manage to stay up.

AND IT LOOKS LIKE THERE WILL BE STREAMS ON onhockey.tv

#CapsLockForExcitment

Streams are actually on youtube and the quality is better than most of the KHL broadcasts on TV lol

Kazakhstan beat France, means that Italy need just two points so an OT win would do it for them.

Hoping Hungary get promoted, who is expected to go up?

I guess the expectations are:

1. Hungary
2. Netherlands
3. Romania
4. Lithuania
5. Croatia
6. Estonia

Although 2-4 placed teams are pretty even so I wouldn't be all that surprised to see Lithuania or Romania as high as in second place. This is a strongest Lithuanian U-20 team in a long time.

Not the best period of hockey I have seen in my life, but seems like Austria are struggling just to get the puck out of their own zone. Denmark in full control even though it has not been awarded with any goals yet.

Ok, lets forget about Austrians. Need to see if Ukraine can help out Kazakhstan and beat Italians in regulation. 1:1 now in the middle of the first.

Few good plays and Hungary is up 2-1. Lithuanians are looking pretty good though, had few breakaways, really tight on defense. Batlle for the 2nd place is going to be interesting.

Kinda hoped Lithuania would hold on, but unlikely now that it is 1:2 in space of 3 minutes..
