KOTOR isn't PT era, but I wouldn't be surprised if there was significant overlap of the people that like each. KOTOR being a game was probably targeted to an age group that viewed the PT as fun movies, instead of bad movies.

That's true. I just associate it with it because it's similar in aesthetic, world details (like abundance of Force users) and so on. I just prefer SW content that's more set in and inspired by the OT, with its grittier aesthetic, scarcity of Force users and so on, since that's what I grew up and fell in love with.

Anyone watched the Disney Gallery documentary series on the making of The Mandalorian? I watched the first episode and I got the impression that a) Jon Favreau could/should be in charge of Star Wars projects, b) Deborah Chow is going to be directing some major projects soon after Obi-Wan series (I'd guess an MCU film is in the future), b) Bryce Dallas Howard is shockingly good for such a newbie and d)Taika Waititi is crazy (good).

I haven't yet, but I might. The talent behind that show is clear. And they all came with varying levels of experience, which is even more impressive, and should only make them better in the long run.

That series isn't what I was expecting, but I'm a sucker for any behind the scenes type shows so I'm enjoying it. It does seem like the directors genuinely enjoyed working together. It also doesn't hurt having a guy there who was basically George Lucas' apprentice. As much shit as Lucas gets for the prequels (some of it deserved) he was still the guy who created the franchise.

Now this is interesting.
GeekTyrant said:
Before Disney bought Lucasfilm and started developing their own Star Wars projects, George Lucas was developing a live-action series titled Star Wars: Underworld. He wanted it to be a 400 episode series, and before the project was put on hold, he reportedly already had 100 completed scripts.

STAR WARS Meets BLADE RUNNER in This Test Footage From George Lucas' STAR WARS: UNDERWORLD TV Series — GeekTyrant

Here's a direct embedding of the test footage from the article:

The following article, from /Film, is equally interesting because it explains why the series fell apart and Lucas sold the franchise just months later:

George Lucas Envisioned Using 'The Mandalorian' Stagecraft Tech for His Own 'Star Wars' TV Shows and Sequel Trilogy

Just think of what might've been. If it hadn't been for a handful of Lucas' neighbors, Disney might've never gotten Star Wars and we would've been spared their sequel trilogy, possibly in favor of Lucas' own.

I don't know how many people on here collect Funko Pop's because it's a hobby I got into last year. Anyway besides my various Maple Leafs Funko's my first Star Wars one was an Ahoska version from Star Wars Rebels that was originally sold at Hot Topic. I purchased it in May 2019 at an annual Sport Card & Memorabilia and I think I paid $20. Anyway I checked the Funko Pop website and today it's worth $95 and the most expensive one in whole collection.

Also last August when I was at Walt Disney World in their Star Wars Launch Bay store at Hollywood Studios, I happened to see Ashley Eckstein signing autographs. Had I known she was going to be there I would have brought my Ahsoka Funko and have her sign the box.

That test footage looked bad.

Maybe if they actually went to make something it would have been good, but I can't watch that video and think "man they really missed out on something special!"

I'm not sure people would have liked Lucas' sequel trilogy any more than Disney's. Wasn't he rumored to go even more into midichlorians?

The rumor was it went more into the Whills, and the Force itself, and how those 2 were tied together. Considering how close Filoni was to Lucas, it's not surprising that Clone Wars and Rebels had aspects of this. I think we would've learned more about the process of how the Jedi learned to become force ghosts.

To me, I can tolerate and even come to like bad movies that are creatively with the creator and their vision. That's why Lucas always gets a pass for me.

I collect a lot pops and have about 10 Star Wars pops, but none that are really valuable. I've got Endor Luke, Endor Han, Regular Vader, Supreme Leader Kylo Ren, Dark Side Rey, Lando from RotJ, Rey from Last Jedi, Rose, Finn in disguise from Last Jedi and Leia from Force Awakens.

There's this rumor going around that once Kathleen Kennedy's contract expires with Disney and she's out at Lucasfilm, they are going to use the "Veil of the Force" that was introduced in Star Wars: Rebels to erase the sequel trilogy from cannon.

Personally, even with Kennedy out of the picture I question if Disney would have the guts to make a move like that knowing there will be huge backlash from the woke mob. That being said, it's pretty clear that right now Disney doesn't want to touch anything remotely relating to the sequel trilogy, and unless they intend to ignore it in perpetuity, at some point I think they're going to be forced to either start creating some content from or after that era or reset everything that would have taken place after The Mandalorian in canon.

That’s a very bold move, I don’t see it happening. Why not just go 100 years in the future and use a completely new cast? Or do KOTOR.

They aren't going to retcon the ST, or do some weird multi-verse to act like the ST didn't actually happen. They'll just ignore it and move on to something that is more universally liked. The actors have shown little interest in doing those characters again, so I don't really think they could build off of it either.

If there was a retcon I doubt there would be a redo of the sequel trilogy. The Skywalker Saga would just be Episodes I-VI. Anything that would be done as it relates to Luke, Han, Leia, etc. would be outside of that. It would also probably be animated as Carrie Fisher is dead and Harrison Ford uninterested in reprising Han Solo. Mark Hamill is probably uninterested in ever reprising his role as Luke, though if he liked what they were going to do with the character then maybe there's a sliver of a chance.

The rumor came from Cosmicbooknews.com which is highly, highly unreliable. FWIW.

Even if people at Lucasfilm/Disney believed the ST was poor quality, they it would be a PR nightmare to do something that would de-legitimize it. The PT and ST are what they are.
