Bets on if those are even made? The Taika movie if it gets made will excite me. The Headland show will be, well interesting to see the Internet explode at.

It already did. But I do like the point John Campea made the point on his show, this is the FIRST female lead show in the Star Wars history. Everything else's been male lead. So I see no issue with that.

Once things clear up on the production front Coronavirus wise, 100% sure they will be.

If I needed a list of must see episodes/story arcs from Clone Wars for a friend who's not seen much/at all of Clone Wars yet but intends to when Disney+ opens here during the summer, what would they be? By the way, she said today that one of her friends is doing the Finnish dubbing for one character.
Google it.

Funny you bring up Campea, I agree with Erin's take on it. There have been female led movies and games and comics, and I'd argue the animated shows had co-leads with how they were setup, so I wouldn't view it as a big deal from the content side. I don't have a problem with it being female led, but the main draw should be the content/story.

John's point about this being the first in an all male lead universe so far did change Erin's stance by the way. Plus there was the point that the story they were highlighting brought it up, meaning it was the writer of the article, not a Disney blurb. Disney weren't marketing this as female lead show.

I would watch everything on here, including the honorable mentions.

In chronological order (the release order was not always chronological) my list would probably look like this.

Season 3, Episode 1 - Clone Cadets
Season 1, Episode 1 - Ambush
Season 1, Episode 5 - Rookies
Season 1, Episodes 19-21 - Ryloth Arc
Season 2, Episodes 1-3 - Cad Bane Arc
Season 2, Epiaode 10 - The Deserter
Season 2, Episodes 12-14 - Mandalore Arc
Season 3, Episode 2 - ARC Troopers
Season 3, Episodes 12-14 - Nightsisters Arc
Season 3, Episodes 15-17 - Mortis Arc

Season 4, Episodes 7-10 - Umbara Arc
Season 4, Episodes 21-22; Season 5, Episode 1; Season 5, Episodes 14-16 - Maul Arc
Season 5, Episodes 17-20 - Ahsoka Arc
Season 6, Episodes 1-4 - Order 66 Arc
Season 6, Episodes 10-13 - Yoda Arc

The ones in bold I already had in mind. I'm a bit wary on the first season as I've managed to forget most of it.

Erin always said it was a good thing that they will have a female-centric show, her point was how they market it. Now I know it wasn't officially Disney, but that point still stands, it's why so many other pieces of media have received backlash, I know you'll disagree with that though. I also think it's a bit disingenuous to act like it's an all male led universe. Rogue One, ST, Battlefront 2, Dr. Aphra, etc. are all female led. Leia, Ahsoka, Sabine, Hera, etc. would all be co-leads IMO.

Just an FYI, this is more an American thing. For example there was zero controversy with Captain Marvel in Europe. Europeans are more used to female lead tv shows, especially cop ones in several countries.

That's not really one that I would've used as an example. There was a lot of clickbait youtube videos, and maybe a scene that was silly, but I wouldn't say that's one of the examples I'm talking about. Now you're right, the cultural/political divide in this country is greater than many others, but it's more on how things are presented. In the States, there have always been female led shows and movies, that's not what the problems are when there is backlash.

The hate/outrage channels tend to be overwhelmingly American.

The controversy over Captain Marvel had nothing to do with Americans not being used to female-led entertainment. You should know that because it's been pointed out to you countless times that there was no similar controversy over Wonder Woman (the 2017 movie, but also the hit American TV show from the 1970s). It seems like you just ignore facts like that and completely make up others so that you can keep believing and painting Americans as sexist and less enlightened than Europeans such as yourself.

I'm not disagreeing, I'm just saying the content in that movie wasn't worth the outrage. Brie might do some stuff away from the set that might annoy some, but that movie wasn't blatantly trying to pander with identity politics like some other movies out there. I don't want to go down that road since we both know it won't be productive.

I will say, I think it's silly if you think Americans aren't used to female-led content and support that content as well.

It's more about the fact that it needs to be even brought up if a tv show or movie is female lead.

No, it really doesn't. That's the problem and that point Erin was making on Campea's show. If we are talking shows in general like you brought up in a post, then that's just a ridiculous statement that doesn't really follow shows in the States. If it's specific to Star Wars and their tv shows, well they haven't been doing tv shows long.

Not sexist but rather how gender inequality seems to be such an issue for some people to such an extent that whole Youtube channels are dedicated against it, with somewhat alarming popularity.

Those groups just have their niche, just how the opposite of their groups have their's. It's really not a big segment, just how everyone on twitter accounts for an extremely small percentage of the population.

Some of these hate/outrage channels have over 200K subscribers... Granted it was funny seeing how their "boycott Captain Marvel" campaign failed spectacularly, despite review bombing and RT score bombing attempts.

So? Subscribers don't really mean much, views are a better indication. And maybe those channels do other things for why they watch, and how many of those views are people that don't agree with them. And for everyone of those channels, there is one from the other perspective on some platform. It's why people in general do not care whether someone is male led or female led, they just want a good story.

You cite the popularity of the channels to combat his assertion that they represent a niche, but then bring up their spectacular failure of a boycott, supporting his point. The boycott failed because the people who agreed with it are a niche. You shouldn't generalize a country of 300M people because 200K confirm your bias when 50M (roughly the number of Captain Marvel tickets bought by Americans) contradict it.

We do that all over this site. ;)
