Well...um
They needed a body. He’s a different type of 6 than they already had and is a proven EPL player. They should be able to get the guy(s) they actually want in the summer. It’s fine. Brighton wasn’t going to sell now and I don’t blame them.

that’s hilarious…lol.

Jorginho, so long brother, you were great until the last year. Super smart player, should play well in a good lineup. He was gone anyway as his role dwindled….surprised we got some $ for him.

Can you buy Cucurella too please?

Come on Enzo!

I mean, I liked him as a player but haven't seen him much recently. Just not the guy I wanted.

We'll see.

Fernandez's Chelsea deal is complete - Romano

Fabrizio Romano says Enzo Fernandez is done and dusted for ab English record fee of €125m. It’s all over!

I suspect Jacob will be releasing a book in the coming weeks about the Enzo Fernandez saga. It has been a helluva month for the Argentina midfielder and every journalist working in it.

I mean they’ve played 20 games…premature much?
Sure it’s premature but 20 games is half the season. They’re 10 points behind the top four and seven points off of 5th. It’s not enough for them to play well, they have to have a bunch of teams in front of them falter as well. Totally possible they pull it off but I’d bet the odds are not in their favor.

Chelsea spend more money this January than all clubs from La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga and Ligue 1 combined :eek3::eek3::eek3::eek3::eek3:
more than 78 clubs

Well technically depending on who wins the two English cups they likely only need to get into the top 7 to get into Europe next season. I think they will be playing in Europe next season but it is unlikely it will be in the champions league.

How Potter blends this scattershot approach into a functional team should be interesting but I’m not really expecting a ton out of them until next season after they clear out a lot of the bloat in the squad, bring someone in to score goals, and he gets a full preseason to implement his methods with ‘his’ team.

Arsenal away kits have been out of stock all season.

Why don't they want my money?

Auba's fall from grace reminds me of Alexis Sanchez. Uber talented player whose destructive ego led to their downfall.

He didn’t make any noise with us, but just didn’t click. He can still play.

Everton? Really?

They were overwhelming. Clearly a team that finally responded to having their backs against the wall, spurred on by the fresh coaching change.

Arsenal was not prepared. Everton's pressure prevented Arsenal from setting up and Arteta never adjusted to the constant double teaming, for whatever reason.

One team probably spent the week preparing hard and the other may have mostly rested. Dunno.

Dyche has always had Arsenal’s number IMO. He sets his team out to bully them and it often works.

I think he is going to be a great manager for Everton. What he was able to do at Burnley for as long as he did was really impressive.

This is exactly what I saw but didn't want to whine about the refs being unsympathetic when Arsenal could've just upped their own physicality and Everton were clearly better anyway.

Everton were extremely aggressive and physical and Arsenal thought they could deal with it by just passing out of it and it failed 9 times out of 10 because every pass was to someone with a blue shirt draped over his back.

WTF is going on with Leeds? They haven't won in the EPL in 2 months and now stand barely outside relegation.

They were the better team today but just couldn’t put the ball in the net. They had their chances and definitely tested Navas. The goal they gave up wasn’t great defending also, which isn’t a surprise with them.

Poor finishing. If you believe the expected goals stats, they've been playing well.

Nottingham Forest - Leeds (1-0)
0.33 - 1.12

Leeds - Brenford (0-0)
0.37 - 0.17

Aston Villa - Leeds (2-1)
1.65 - 2.46

Leeds - West Ham (2-2)
1.26 - 1.29

Disappointing but that's the reality of the business. He took over a team in 17th place, saved them from relegation, and gets fired leaving the team in 17th place. The roster didn't gel, they couldn't finish consistently in key moments and they didn't find decent enough replacements for Raphinha or Kalvin Phillips. I think he could have gotten them a bit higher in the table with more time and a bit of luck... they seemed really unlucky at times this season.

“some of the squad accusing Haaland of being responsible for the hostile dressing room atmosphere at present.”

that didn’t take long…..please be even more unlikable Haaland…
