Here’s how I’d line them up today. 4-3-2-1 with Reyna playing as a CAM and McKennie and Adams playing as holding midfielders. Sargent plays up top but can also act as a false 9 during the build up. Scally and Dest can swap so Scally can be at RB if that’s GB’s preference.

Sargent
Pulisic Aaronson
Reyna
McKennie Adams
Scally Zimmerman McKenzie Dest
Turner

I’d give Zimmerman a half to see if his shit performance against Japan was due to Long being a black hole or if he’s just not in form. EPB comes on at half for Zimmerman. Pepi gets 35 minutes for Sargent. The rest can sub out but those are the main guys I want to see. Horvath can start in place of Turner but Turner should be the unquestioned #1 going into Qatar. GB will probably still use Steffen and he’ll cost us at least one terrible goal.

I don’t know why I expected different but this is a complete joke for their final WC tune up. Acosta, Long, and Yedlin? Really? We already know what we have in these guys and they were ass during qualifying and they’re not even standouts in the MLS. It’s mind-boggling. And Pepi over Sargent who is in the form of his life for Norwich? Berhlater is f***ing terrible. He makes getting excited for this team real difficult.

Only positive here is Gio Reyna and Pulisic playing together at the same time… it has been a minute since we’ve seen that.

Garbage first half performance. One shot on target against Saudi’s B team which means they have one shot in 135+ minutes in their final tuneup before Qatar. The Saudis had the best first half chance because Long and Zimmerman were covering the same guy and let a player run straight though the box. They should be down 1-0.

Dest was a bright spot. Yedlin looked decent. Zimmerman had some nice outlet passes. Other than that, pretty discouraging.

If you ever have insomnia watch shit like that, will knock you right out

Absolutely no offense to speak of, and 1 shot on goal in two games, 0 goals in 2

f*** Gregg Berhalter and f*** the USSF. We waited eight long years to see the World Cup and this is the best they could do? Embarrassing.

Also, for your viewing pleasure, here is a professional soccer player who may be starting in the World Cup. My high school team passed better than this.

It’s that man Jesus again.

Partey having the game of his Arsenal career as well.

Gabriel is troubling at the back. Doesn't seem to have the smarts or speed to play in Arteta's system. Better than Holding and Cedric, and an improvement over the CBs Arteta inherited, but maybe not the best guy now.

And there's a red card for Spuds!

Reffing has been inconsistent and unpredictable this game.

Partey was unbelievable today. That’s the kind of performance that justifies his fee.

I thought the red was a little harsh but no big issue with it. He got him high and in the back on the leg and the ball wasn’t anywhere near where he went in for the challenge. Xhaka has certainly been on the other side of that call a bunch of times.

Speaking of Xhaka, his redemption arc has been pretty fun to watch. Happy for him.

My opinion of Xhaka has done a 180, with 50% of that coming from his improved play and 50% coming from what I've seen beyond that, in particular the Prime Video documentary on the team. He obviously cares about the club and winning and that's exactly the kind of player Arteta loves, even if it boils over at times.

He is also CLEARLY still the true captain even if Odegaard has the armband. That was on display again today after the first goal when he rallied them in a huddle to presumably further inspire and retain focus.

What in the world is going on with Liverpool? Really strange to watch them completely fall off a cliff.

And meet the new Chelsea, same as the old Chelsea.
Jordan Henderson seems to be washed and they can't admit it. TAA can't defend. And no Mane all compounds for a lot of suck.
