Nike dropped these in the middle of the night like cowards because they are complete ass and everyone hates them. At a time when soccer has never been more popular and interest in US internationals is rising significantly, and with the US being on the biggest international stage again after eight long years, Nike drops the worst kits the US have ever worn. Embarrassing.

What's the specific outrage over the kits? Too plain? Too weird?

They just look like marketing and design decisions to me...reliance on mostly solid colors that will show up well on TV and can be worn by fans in various situations, not just at a match.

Are they great? Nah. Are they total shit? Nah.

How well they play will determine how people ultimately feel about them.

Seems like the couple of players panning them or damning with faint praise have conflicts of interest due to their own endorsement deals that rival Nike.

They’re total and complete shit. Easily the worst uniforms they’ve ever worn. They’re both lazy with zero thought or creativity behind them. The away kits look like a shitty mess of stonewash and camouflage. The home ones look like someone forgot they had to submit their design and did it in the few minutes before the boss started the meeting.

Look at how detailed and thoughtful the Mexican kits are. Or Argentina. Or Japan. Or France. Or the Portugal home ones. The US away jerseys look like practice shirts. And they’re not even the same color blue, or the right color blue for the away ones.

They’re so f***ing bad Nike turned off the review feature on their website yesterday. And the guy in charge of it at Nike is a condescending douche about it. Hell, the players even think they suck.

At some point Leicester has to fire Rodgers right?

They are terrible defensively but he won’t play his best defender, Söyüncü, because he’s mad at him for not signing a new contract, and also won’t play Vestergaard, who is a proven Premier League defender, because he wouldn’t leave this summer. He’s made it personal with both guys and is basically cutting off his nose to spite his face.

That team is way too talented to be anywhere remotely close to this bad and the sooner they turn the page on Rodgers the better.

If Spurs don't want Son, Arsenal will gladly take him
Spurs would be crazy to punt him. He’s had a slow start (besides yesterday) but he’s world class. Have there been reports that they don’t want him? I know Conte said he may get dropped from the starting XI if he doesn’t improve but that seemed like a motivation tactic more than an indictment on any long term plans.

Can’t imagine they wouldn’t prioritize keeping Son, especially with the reports that Bayern told Kane not to sign a new deal because he’s their number one transfer target next summer.

I was hyperbolizing. His father was talking about moving on a few months ago and he didn't start well so the rabbling had begun. It should die down after yesterday's outburst.

Good win for ARS today in terms of points but the inability to string together meaningful passes in the offensive third is a bit concerning, whether or not BRE had 5 back. Not having Odegaard out there is probably a big factor. And Partey remains the worst passer on the team. But the other key players were making some stupid and/or tentative decisions.

And now a 15yr old is on the pitch. Unreal.

What's the most surprising thing 7 games in?

-ARS at the top
-BHA 4th
-Fulham 6th
-CHE and LIV 7th and 8th (eh...expect a rebound from both)
-Just about the entire bottom 6 other than Forest

Liverpool and Arsenal easily the biggest surprises….Leicester and West Ham right there also….

5pts out with a game in hand….it’s just a logjam early….long season and this one will certainly be a tale of 2 halves of the season with the WC break…

Arsenal is a breath of fresh air but it's not a massive surprise. Their fixtures have been very easy so far but that's about to change now. But you still need to win those 'easier' games.

Yes but to be fair who has MCI beaten? All bottom dwellers:

West Ham
Bournemouth
Palace
Forest
Wolves

And they drew vs Newcastle and Villa, with Newcastle being the best team they've faced to date, standings-wise. Granted WH and Wolves and maybe Palace don't belong that far down and will probably correct course eventually. Newcastle is about right in the middle of the pack, imo. Villa should be the same.

But yes, neither team has really been tested much so far. The ARS loss to revived MU could be a bad sign of things to come if the midfield and center back shit doesn't get squared away. And by that I mostly mean Gabriel who is a bit wild in his play, yet there's not great depth. They need someone to replace Partey as a defensive central midfielder, imo.

I think LC an WH being in the relegation zone is the most shocking. Neither team is that bad and WH should be a lot better...top 5-6 with LC right behind, imo.

Don’t think we discussed the NT roster yet. Chris Richards was included but had to withdraw due to injury out for the USMNT. I have a terrible feeling this is going to open the door for GB to start Aaron Long in the WC. Don’t get me started on John Brooks. He’s playing Champions League football and is their best central defender aside from maybe Miles Robinson.

And not including Pefok is ridiculous. I don’t care what Pepi did in qualifying, before this weekend he hadn’t scored a goal for club or country since October 2021 and he has done nothing to merit a call-up while all Pefok has done has continued his terrific form from last season and now he’s the leading scorer for the top team in the Bundesliga. To GB’s credit he’s done some nice things especially in terms of dual-nationality recruiting but his favoritism towards certain players is real bad.

I don’t know how you make a USA jersey, without one of the three colors in the flag. I think a five year old would have at least done that.

They both have all 3 colors. There's just very little red or white in the blue kits other than the USA logos.

I think this is much ado about nothing.

Man, I knew this shit would happen. Long is so bad. He used to be really promising but hasn’t been nearly the same player since he tore his Achilles. Gregg is really going to f*** around and start two MLS center backs against Kane, Sterling, and Foden in two months :banghead::banghead:

Not that I am a fan of Berhalter’s center back choices in general but for this window it doesn’t seem like he has a ton of better options IMO, at least amongst those called up any way.

Disagree. We know Long stinks. He hasn’t even been any good this season in the MLS. Meanwhile, Mark McKenzie is rated as one of the top defenders in the Belgian top flight and Erik Palmer-Brown is playing well against solid competition in Ligue 1.

Gregg runs this shit too much like a club. You play your best players in the national team and figure out the best formation and tactics for your best players. His obsession with guys like Morris, Arriola, Long, etc because he thinks they are good pieces for his system is ridiculous.

Seems a bit overreactive at this stage. do these games suddenly matter?
