Top candidates seem to be Potter (Brighton), Zidane and Pochettino. Zidane is strongly rumoured to be waiting for the France -job so he's unlikely. Other candidates are Rodgers (Leicester), Mourinho (Roma) and Bielsa.

Seems to me that Boehly was eager to get rid of Tuchel and bring his own guy in.

He deserves? Whoscored ranks him as the worst Chelsea -player this season. They should give him a full game at some point but it's not like he was forcing Tuchel's hands and force him to give a game. He has been very underwhelming at every time i've seen him this season.

You can tell who closely watches the team….he is what he is at this point….a disgruntled guy who needs to suck it up, tighten his chinstrap and play better.

CP is a good player when used correctly and sure of his place in the pecking order. You can see it when he lifts the USMNT. I don't think the level of competition is the difference there but rather the mindset.

CP needs to leave Chelsea. I think this move will make it worse for him as he’ll get the lion’s share of the blame from those who think Tuchel was a scapegoat by the American owner because his American star wasn’t getting a fair shake. The relationship has run it’s course; he looks miserable on and off the field and the fans have turned on him for the most part. He hasn’t been great but Ziyech, Havertz, and Mount have all been terrible as were Wermer and Lukaku last year. Something about Tuchel or his system seemed to suck the talent out of his offensive players.

Totally…he just one of many elite talents with Chelsea.

It’s all about confidence or lack thereof right now IMO and his mindset has to be poor on top of it all.

Nahhh…that’s phony/false dilemma. A new manager can change that all immediately…depends on how the two interact and CP responds.

New guy comes in and there’s no reset, then yes, maybe time to move on.

Check out Twitter and tell me it’s phony. I know Twitter doesn’t encapsulate everything or everyone but the hate towards Ziyech and CP is real, with CP getting most of the blame. He’s going to need to be fantastic for a long time before he changes hearts and minds.

Every team has whipping boys. CP is it for Chelsea right now.

If the new coach comes in and CP gets hot the anti-American nonsense will simmer down to a handful of crazies.

They look completely disinterested and disjointed. Very strange.

They've generally been shit this year and have looked that way in several games... the one blowout as the main exception that comes to mind.

IIRC they looked bad early last year

Injuries and age aren’t helping. They’re at their best when they’re pressing forward with a high back line but they don’t have the horses in the midfield to keep up the pressure. Henderson and Milner look old and slow, Mane is gone, Darwin and Diaz are super promising but not quite there yet, and then injuries to Jota, Ox, Keita, and Thiago have depleted them of a working midfield. And Gomez looks awful next to VVD who isn’t playing well himself.

They look like a team that’s logged a lot of miles over the years and are missing some key players. They should be fine but they need reinforcements and potentially a style shift until they can get those guys back.
