That's what I was thinking. A combo of CR7 and Ibrahimovic. His skill and stride and acceleration remind me a bit of CR7 in years past, and he's got the size and net presence of the schnoz.

Terrifying.
With these performances, he's unlikely to stay in PL for very long.

Ibrahimovic was never fast.

There are many similarities between him and Cristiano Ronaldo actually even though they aren't really similar style of players.
I don’t see the technical abilities of those two in Haaland, at least not yet. He’s a big, fast, powerful man with good skills playing for a great team but part of me thinks a young Jan Koller would be having similar success in that team.

I’m assuming technically he’s going to continue to improve under Pep, which is a scary thought. Given his style of play if he does make those technical strides I see a Marco van Basten comparison.

FFP is one of those things that seems like a great idea but it just doesn’t make any sense in the long run. Like how is Barca not on that list? They have been in financial trouble but they also are shelling out shit loads of money for players with huge weekly salaries. Always a head scratcher

Did you watch him much for Dortmund? I got to see him a few times and he's got incredible body control. He may not be a dribble-in-a-phonebooth guy but he's got that top speed talent that enables him to get just the right touch on the ball while sprinting and extending his freakishly long limbs, which is an absolute nightmare for defenders and goalies.

I kind of see a parallel to Ovechkin in his early years.

That’s like fining me $50. Do I want to pay it? No but I don’t give a crap about it either…
The full fine was like 56, but somehow they have to pay this now…

changing of the guard….

Tired of the BS tactics. And nobody in the final 1/3 with decisive play.

Tuchel better figure it out or he’s done.

12 for MU yelled out in pain before Saka even touched him. Eye rolled so hard I almost popped my right eye out if it’s socket.

I didn't see the other one but saw the incident in the Newcastle game. It was a mind-boggling decision. Thought that goal should have never been over-turned and if anything it was more of a foul by the Palace defender so it should have been closer to penalty rather than Palace free-kick if the ball didn't go in.

I would also be furious at the defender there if i'm the Palace goalie. That could have ended up really badly for him.

Saw the Che/WH goal as it happened and the announcers got it right but the refs got it wrong.

In both of these goals the contact with the goaltender had nothing to do with the ball going in.

Another bad VAR that's not mentioned imo is the non-call on the Villa corner kick from Douglas Luiz vs Arsenal. The AV player nearest Ramsdale boxed him out and put his arm around him to restrain him. Ramsdale had no ability whatsoever to reach the ball, but for some bizarre reason the goal stood.

Can anyone explain that? There are alternate views around 1:17 of the video:

Couple of former refs already deemed that the correct call. Ramsdale has his hands around Kamara and tries to hit the ball over him and misses. I think they deemed that it stood because Ramsdale tries to go through him rather than around him and Kamara just stoods his ground like he is allowed to.

I think the biggest VAR blooper came in the Chelsea Spurs game. Romero grabbed Cucurella's hair and tossed him down and somehow that red card wasn't given and Spurs scored from the ensuing corner. They later admitted that it was a mistake.

Disagree that Ramsdale wasn't trying to get around. He was being restrained. The angles I talked about show the AVL player's arms around Ramsdale.

Still a bad call imo. And if somehow technically legal then a bad precedent.

Yes the hair pull was blatant, too.
