Disagree. We know Long stinks. He hasn’t even been any good this season in the MLS. Meanwhile, Mark McKenzie is rated as one of the top defenders in the Belgian top flight and Erik Palmer-Brown is playing well against solid competition in Ligue 1.

Gregg runs this shit too much like a club. You play your best players in the national team and figure out the best formation and tactics for your best players. His obsession with guys like Morris, Arriola, Long, etc because he thinks they are good pieces for his system is ridiculous.
I hear you but both those guys are only there because of injuries to others at the moment. They aren’t going to be in Qatar most likely. So I guess I don’t see the point in trying to build chemistry with guys who won’t be on the roster in November.

If you want to argue who should be going to the World Cup that is a different discussion and I likely won’t disagree with you. But I guess at this point my feeling is that ship has sailed so the guys who are going might as well build chemistry.

As I say that they give up a (luckily offside) goal……with Long dogging it on the race back to defend….

Well….not offside after all….

Japan playing like it's WC.

We're playing like it's practice.

Told you that the CB play would be terrible and when the CB play is terrible the midfield play suffers in Gregg’s system. Zimmerman hasn’t been good in the MLS this year either but Long was atrocious. That was a complete mess which I think is actually a good thing because it shows Gregg how awful his selections were but GB may be too stubborn to admit it.

I don’t care if it’s two months from the WC, play your best players, even if they haven’t featured heavily in the side during qualifying. We have central defenders starting and playing big minutes in the English, French Belgian, Scottish, and Portguese top flights and he starts two average, at best, CBs from the MLS. John Brooks and Benfica just beat Juventus in CL play. Carter-Vickers in playing terrific soccer for Celtic. McKenzie looked night and day better next to Zimmerman than Long did. We don’t have to trot out such a shitty CB pair, we can and should do better.

It’s a complete f***ing joke that Berhalter is such an asshole about this and he’s going to tank their chances at the WC. He honestly has me believing in the conspiracy theory that the USSF mandates a certain percentage of rostered and starting players must be from the MLS because it’s impossible to believe that a guy who has been around as long as GB has can honestly think Long, Arriola, and Morris are NT quality. So frustrating.

I ain't blaming that team turd on the CB play lol.... they're not in any way responsible for driving offense or shots.
Oh it was a total team turd for sure and everyone deserves their share of the blame but Gregg’s system is predicated on playing a high line and playing out of the back. If your CBs can’t align properly, can’t pass, can’t receive passes, etc it f***s up the whole flow.

In the latest series of recordings, Mathias Pogba accused his brother of having abandoned members of their family, leaving them in poverty.

He also claimed that the midfielder mixed with criminals, and he repeated claims that Paul Pogba employed a witch doctor. He did not bring any proof to substantiate his accusations.

According to Mathias Pogba's latest claims, the witch doctor is close to former France international Alou Diarra, and Paul Pogba was introduced to him by former Paris Saint-Germain defender Serge Aurier.

He said that over the years the France midfielder has spent millions for the services of the witch doctor, asking him for instance to help France win the 2018 World Cup or to cast spells on rival footballers.

Mathias Pogba had previously said that his brother had targeted Kylian Mbappe without being more specific. In his latest videos, he claimed that Paul Pogba asked the witch doctor to "neutralise" Mbappe for the return leg of a Champions League match between PSG and Manchester Unitedback in 2019. United had won that game 3-1 to advance to the quarterfinals.

WTAF….is hiring a Witch Dr to curse your opponents considered poor sportsmanship?! 😂

I am so done with this guy.

I've been wondering if he's a goldbricking malingerer and now I'm nearly sure of it.
Injuries happen and some guys are just more fragile than others. I’m not sure why this is such a big deal to you. I’d like to see him on the field more also but it is what it is. I’m really not sure why you think he is faking it. That’s kind of absurd IMO.

The flip side of that….maybe being cautious and pulling himself before actual match play where he could really be injured, is better for his Club anyway longterm.

You essentially can’t refuse International duty unless you’re really out. What’s the guy to do?

Yeah because no athletes ever dog it and collect a paycheck.

Whatever the reason, I don't care. Even healthy he's a liability. Money better spent elsewhere.
