It's like what the rockies did with their staff. I think there were a couple seasons where they didn't even have a guy exceed 175 innings.

It was actually a 4 man rotation they used if memory serves me right. The downside is that they didn't allow them to go further than 85-90 pitches because of it.

Jays suck folks. We will be lucky to finish .500

LOL @ the people who were crapping on the Yankees before the season. Just laughable

From Keith Law's chat yesterday regarding early reports on Phil Bickford:

"Terrible. Upper 80s at times, still no breaking ball. I criticized the Jays for taking what I saw as a second round talent at best with the 10th pick, but the end result will probably be OK for them."

Confident we can get a much better 'spect with the comp pick.

Just go over their 1st rd picks for the last 10 years or so, then check out players taken after they draft.:help: :help: LaCava and AA and his minions must go. Even Joe has to contemplate this.

Yes AA is responsible for the first round picks in the last 10 years.

And you can say that about several other general managers.

1. Reyes (SS)
2. The Melky (LF)
3. Bautista (RF)
4. Enarnacion (1B)
5. Francisco (3B)
6. Lawrie (2B)
7. The Colby (CF)
8. Thole (C)
9. Morrowind (P)

Kratz up, Jenkins down. Move made for flexibility due to the interleague play.

For peats sake, Lawrie's defense at 3rd >>>> Francisco's bat. Especially now that Melky is healthy and Getz has hit the ball well. I've liked what Gibby has done with the roster so far this year, but this just has me shaking my head.

What precedent is there to suggest that the Jays will turn it around?

Specifically to the Jays or in baseball in general?

Because if its baseball in general, then I would say the 2001 A's (8-17), 2006 Twins (9-15), 2006 Padres (9-15), 2007 Yankees (9-14), 2007 Rockies (10-16), and 2010 Braves (9-14) were all far more putrid than the 3rd place Blue Jays after April, and made the playoffs.

And then of course there's the 2003 Marlins (16-22 on May 11th) who won the world series, the 2005 Houston Astros (21-35 on June 7) who won the Pennant.

The thought of Happ getting a start makes me puke. If they really have to go with this 6 man rotation Stroman is the one who acutally deserves it

Would also rather have Lawrie at 3rd tonight and Francisco coming off the bench late in the game, but I can see why gibby wants his bat in the line up the way he's been hitting lately. Another downside to Lawrie at 2nd is no Getz tonight, on top of that Gose isn't starting. I only say this because last night it was nice having some speed on the basepaths, with Getz's 2 stolen bases and Gose's pure speed.

He started his career in the NL playing primarily 3rd and some 1st. Just not good enough to make his bat worth it. He was made for the AL as a DH.

Apparently Gibbons thinks differently. It is nice to know that Francisco and Lind will both be options from the bench if we need someone to hit for us.

Francisco might be that one power bat we've been missing for years off the bench. Still early though, and he hasn't really been tested in a PH only scenario yet which can play mind games with some hitters.
