Stop overreacting. It's fine. Is it distracting? No more than other other ad along the boards. And ads have been a part of the league for four decades. lol

Okay, boomer.
God forbid others have an opinion that isn't yours lol. We're talking about ads literally chasing players and bring pasted on top of white jerseys. I don't notice most ads but those are hard to ignore and directly affect the quality of the viewing experience. I don't care about most ads. I wouldn't care if the ones projected on the ice for tv worked properly either. It's the glitchy nature of those ones that bug me.

Some of you people would do well to pay more attention to the game rather than look for stuff that does not matter to complain about

"I can make a thread on HF about this!"

Almost like they're trying to but this whole thread is about the ads distracting from the game?

This is like going into a "goalie to edmonton" trade thread and telling them to quit trying to trade for a better goalie and just have a better goalie.

Someone says "this sucks" and I'm saying it doesn't.

Free country blablabla.

It is rather insane that people expect a 100% safe space when giving their opinion. "Don't tell someone who is wrong that they are wrong!!! PLEASE THINK OF THEIR FEELINGS"

So you saying you disagree is part of living in a free country, but me saying I find your disagreement dumb is me wanting a safe space?

Pretty hilarious to both try and play the victim AND cry about safe spaces in the same post.

What? Are we not allowed replying to you,? You seem to be the one that can't handle other opinions....

I see reading comprehension is not your strong suit. I'm being chastised for expressing my opinion about someone else's opinion. You are arguing for the need of a safe space on behalf of OP: "don't come here and tell OP he is wrong!"

I don't need a safe space, I can handle debate and being wrong just fine.

You clearly can't handle being told you are wrong based on your reaction here.

Your whole argument in nonsensical. You argue that I have an issue with you calling the OP wrong because "I think it should be a safe space" an no one should be called wrong. This is clearly stupid because I AM CALLING YOUR WRONG. I clearly have no issue with people being called wrong.

Again, how have you managed to turn yourself into a victim here?

Apparently you do as your getting annoyed others don't have the same opinion as you. What in the literal hell are you talking about? Pepe are allowed to dispute your posts the same as youre allowed to dispute others. The issue is you coming into a thread telling other people they're wrong simply because it's not an opinion you share. You don't find it annoying, great... Nobody is telling you you're wrong. You just seem hell bent on being combative for no reason at all.. Nobody said anything about safe spaces. Grow up

Not bothered by the ads on the boards. The ones on the ice are horrible though. The last outdoor game, they flickered badly. I think they turned them off mid-game, guess somebody realized the failure.

I'm not a victim because I'm not wrong, these ads are barely noticeable to anyone who is actually watching the game.

You are calling me wrong on the basis that this thread is for complaining about these ads and that I shouldn't be here telling OP he is exaggerating. You are the one claiming this thread should be a safe space for people who share OP's views.

Also I used the term safe space to trigger the snowflakes and it seems to have worked beautifully.

These have been there for years and they're really not that bad.

I am just thankful - for the time being - that they are not more drug ads.

You ARE wrong. It's literally an opinion thread and youre in here crying that your opinion is right and everyone else's is wrong. You're either trolling (which judging by you saying you're trying to trigger people is what you're doing) or you woke up hungover from the weekend and just decided to be as prickly as you can possibly be. Nobody said your wrong, but how in the hell you can while playing the victim at the same time is beyond me. Nice job detailing the thread though.

You use the term safe space because you have little vocabulary and no sense of irony.

I have never complained about you disagreeing with anyone. You just can't come to terms with people disagreeing with your bad take, so you assume criticism of your take is somehow calling for a safe space.

Its literally hilarious how you are throwing words like "snowflake" and "safe space" around when this whole argument is about you not being able to handle me (and others) disagreeing with your bad take.

I find the virtual ads placed at the top of the offensive zone, boards, and glass to be the most distracting. They either are really bright and stick out or they shake back and forth and change during the play or often just glitch out. I don't like the painted in-ice ads either but they're at least less distracting than the virtual ones

It is a part of the reason I haven't watched as many games this year. I think it differs from TV network but my local one just started putting in some of the virtual ads this year. From what I understand some others have had them for a few years now

i'm of the opinion that it's only bothersome because it's not uniform

have it all as traditional ads or have the entire board LED

it just looks weird when you try to sneak just one in there

You didn't say "it doesn't suck."

What you said was people should watch the game instead of looking for things to complain about. That's not about you disagreeing. Because you disagree you seem to think opposing opinions are completely invalid and shouldn't be posted here. You are doing the exact thing you blame others for in trying to create a "safe space" where you don't have to read opinions you disagree with.

You also weirdly seem to think that your opinion is "right" and someone else's is objectively "wrong." That's not how opinions work.

Nothing new about this. The Xcel Energy Center has had a video screen on the boards to display various ads throughout a game for more than a decade.
They're definitely not new, but some of them seem to have gotten a lot brighter and more obnoxious the last couple seasons.

New trend I've noticed this year. The distracting and bright 'at home' and 'geico' ads on the boards that change sponsors, guess the ones on the glass and the ice in the off/def zones up by the blue lines weren't enough. Wont be long before jerseys are disgraced with an ad.

I'm afraid I've got some bad news for you.

I don't understand why they have the 4 digital adds in the corners on the boards, when the boards are already filled with ads. What do the digital ones add that the ones printed on the boards don't already accomplish?
