Which makes me think...I think the most underrated player in Devils history is Bruce Driver...

Perhaps because he left to go across the river? I think that plays at least some part of it but Driver deserves more accolades for his time with New Jersey...just taking off the C voluntarily to give it to Stevens has him in a special place in Devils history....

There should be a grand coronation ceremony with Nico removing the C and bending the knee to Jack for saving the franchise.

Edit: every time I see Jack doing incredible things then see Nico wearing the C I cringe...I cringed before Jack was doing incredible things, now it's even worse.

Being the face of the org has nothing to do with it. Or at least, it shouldn’t. Landeskog is C for the Avs. Should he give it to Makar or Mackinnon? Even Rantanen?

Should Okposo give it away? Jordan Staal? Boone Jenner? Jamie Benn? Trouba? Tavares? The list goes on and on.

Yeah... MacKinnon should 100% absolutely be the captain of the Avalanche. He speaks for the team regularly and team looks to him as example and he's their best player.

He never improved...he was stagnant after his promising rookie season. We're 6 year in and he's just not a difference maker. That's a huge disappointment out of the organizations first ever #1OA.

this is definitely jacks team and hes the face of the franchise. there are def a lot of examples where the best player isn't the captain but still feels weird to me. they should have captain for x amount of years and move on to another player.

You missed the first quarter of games when you were on the road trip and Nico was dominating 5v5 and getting points.

You certainly like to pick on him when there is a lull in his game (such as the last few weeks), but don't say anything when he has a strong positive effect on the game, such as during the massive runs this team has been on earlier in the year, you were completely silent.
