I still don't believe that it's Not that serious 'cause if it wasn't that serious, they would be using the "DAY TO DAY" thing, not say "Week to Week" which we all know, if Marino was any indication, resulted in 6 weeks.
Why would they overtly say things to sink themselves further? If it was that bad, what advantage would they gain by lying? There’s none.

They underestimated Hall’s injury 3-4 years ago when Shero was still GM and somehow now everytime there’s an injury we won’t see the guy for months. If Hughes misses more time than 1-2 weeks it’s because the injury hasn’t healed as they expected and it’ll take a little more time. It’s not because there’s some conspiracy where the staff decides to just announce injuries as lesser than what they truly are.

Just looking at Zetterlund’s card…obviously his production hasn’t popped off too much yet, but he’s definitely going to be a good one.

Hopefully they're just being cautious because they know how important Jack is. Now would be a fine time for some load management as well. We're pretty much locked into a first round matchup with the Rangers at this point. We're probably not catching Carolina and we're 10 points up on the Caps who are 4th in the division. There's no reason to rush Jack back if he's not as close to 100% as most players are by this point of the season.

They announced Marino was out week to week and he missed 6 weeks. I assume week-to-week means something like 2 to 6 weeks.
But they added the caveat that week to week means fewer weeks with Hughes, they didn't add that caveat with Bastian and Marino so it's probably more in the 2-3 range, albeit depending on what kind of injury it is and if there's a possibility of reaggravating it in training.

Is this serious? Wasn’t it pretty much commonly known marty was the one that had problem with the visor?
Having a problem with it and crying to Bettman to get it changed are two different things. Ovy is mistaken if he thinks the same league that put in a rule specifically limiting something Marty was the best at would also then make a rule that would help him.

I'm a little wary. After a good start his shot rate really fell off a cliff. He has a pretty solid overall game, he's a cheap contract, but is he proving himself to be more then a solid 3rd line winger? Sounds pretty hopeful.

I actually posted about this and the other player cards the other night. Someone had already posted this one, but I had never flipped through all of them myself.

I think he has the lousiest surplus value (or deficit, really) on the team. Even more than Blackwood by close to double.

Yeah but when a player tosses around the “player safety” with sometbing it’s usually bad if it’s ignored. Hey I don’t care I just always assumed it was because Marty not necessarily going to the commissioner but bringing the awareness at least

He’s averaging almost 1.8 shots a game which isn’t bad, and shooting at 7.4 % which is pretty unsustainably unlucky. He has a very good shot - he could probably let it rip more, but most rookies seem to be somewhat hesitant to shoot at high volumes.

If he becomes a solid middle 6 forward that can score 20+ goals and put up 45/50 points, that’s a huge win.

His weak floaters per 60 is very low

This injury could be good timing if the team can use it as a chance to tighten up the team defence. Let's see what the coaches can do.

Much of that shot rate is being carried by his first 20 or so games. Amongst his last 6 games, he did have 3 sog's vs Nash, but has 1 total shot in the other 5. Hasn't scored since Dec 3rd, which if my math is right means his shooting % is zero over that time. So a shot rate that has sunk, and not burying his chances when he does.

Now I know shooting % can swing quick, so I don't put too much into that, but he needs to get shots on goal at a better rate then we've seen over his last 20.

He’s a rookie. That happens.

Regardless, at the end of the day it’s clear Zetterlund has a legitimate NHL career ahead of him. That’s more the point.
