Eh Vesey's another guy who looked like he'd rather be on the other side of town (a la Grabner) and he's playing like it this year.

I'll never understand a take like this. Vesey was playing for league minimum last year after getting a PTO. He was busting his ass every game. He's pretty much the same guy over there except he's getting some bounces.

Dude's had by far his best years as a Ranger and has basically sucked everywhere else, both at the beginning of his career and this year, whatever you want to attribute it to.

I don't disagree about his game, but talented players find a way to work their way up the lineup.
Brian Gionta started in the bottom six but he also had a total of
3 points (1G 2A) in his first 16 GP (12:13 ATOI)
7 points (3G 4A) in his first 34 GP (13:14 ATOI)

He ended up with
11 points (4G 7A) in 35 GP in his 1st season because he had 4 points (1G 3A) in his last game. (Ending with 13:25 ATOI.)

Holtz has 4 points (3G 1A) in 18 GP this season but only 10:18 ATOI.

Holtz’s 5v5 TOI/GP is 8:12.

I don’t know if you can find another young Devils player of note (good or bad) that got so little ice time. Matteau and Quenneville got more ice time and it wasn’t because they were better.

Holtz is not a play driver and probably never will be. He has to be put in a position to succeed.

My problem with the whole thing is that they haven't even tried to do that. Play him with Nico or Bratt or Jack. I am not even saying for a WHOLE GAME. But just please try it. Didn't he score one of his goals when they put him on the PP with those guys? Against Nashville I wanna say?

Give the kid a chance. Hes never going to do anything playing 8 minutes a night with Mike McLeod.

Exactly. As you said, Holtz isn't a play driver. How is he supposed to deserve to go up in the lineup when he's stuck with offensive black holes constantly? I'll never understand this.

I’d take the impaler if he was cheap (and he should tbh be he’s not been great this year, though I’m not sure entirely if it’s him or just some more of that weird blues shit).

Man is not afraid to put the puck in the net.

As the great Geddy Lee once said “hey, 10 bucks is 10 bucks”

what did these working men (no neil peart yet) make to play this high school gym back then?

as good as players as they are/were there's plenty of tempo shifts thats are there for the wrong reason and sound sloppy... but when they get to speed its go go go

the beginning and especially the end are so not 'in groove' at all

it f***s the riff

Devils or new team should give him time to mature and learn on the fly. He is very talented and very raw.
Its very interesting how many raw talents Castron squad drafted. And may be only Mercer and Nemec looked good enough from any side.(outside from top-1 picks).

I'm gonna laugh at the Rangers landing Kane or Tank at an insane price and those guys will probably go insane versus Round 1.

Foote is actually big and Stillman isn’t so he can be a “power forward” just by using his size more. Stillman is more of an energy forward.

They basically tried finding a Coleman by force instead of it happening naturally. That pick was one of my most hated picks in a while.

Heres to quitting cigarettes!

I hope the Devils have as much success as I do improved health!

And I implore anyone else who smokes to quit as well! No better time to start then now

Go Devils!
Good stuff, I quit almost nine years ago cold turkey.
