If the argument is that we need him for his leadership, attitude, and playoff ability - then it's absolutely fair game to criticize his current team's performance under his leadership.

If the argument is that it's for his skills as a hockey player - Jesper Bratt is a better hockey player.
Honest question how is Bratt the better hockey player?

From my perspective there are many things Jesper can't do that Brady does but there's nothing Bratt does that Brady can't do....and that physical aspect is no small thing. Brady is a modern day Cory Perry and I would kill to have that element on my team

AFTER the video tribute. :sarcasm: The Devils missed the boat on this one. Could've had a "Toffoli jersey exchange" promo. Turn in your Toffoli jersey and get an Allen AND Kahkonen for $73 each.
Was there even one for Graves on Tuesday? It was his first game back and he was here longer than Toffoli or Miller lol

I think Bratt has more skill and is a much better skater baed on my observations. I speculate that Bratt is a smarter player as well because he has to be in order to be successful at his size but I can't say that's easy to observe. Just my thoughts. Tkachuk clearly has numerous other physical advantages. They are both great players.

Less so, if you become a fairly useless perimeter player bc you are dancing out of the way all the time, don't make or cleanly receive passes bc you run out of time, and stop driving to the net.

I like Jasper Bratt more than I like most of our players and I'd keep him above almost all of our forwards, but I think it's pretty safe to project that Tkachuk is one of the few players that represent exactly what we are needing to win.

If you can add without subtraction, 'oh my' is right.

Contradictory much?

Also, is that a purposeful misspelling of his first name?

So are you all just bored out of your skulls that you're bringing back the Never-will-happen Trade scenarios regarding [insert Tkachuk brother here] for Bratt?

Brady has 96 (67 ES) goals and 365 PIM in the last 3 years.

Jesper has 80 (63 ES) goals and 30 PIMs in the last 3 years

Those two players aren't similar.
I said similarly valuable (true) not similar stylistically.

Bratt is a significantly better transition player and his rush focus meshes better with our other guys.

And Brady both draws and takes a lot of penalties. Bratt draws penalties pretty well but doesn’t take any. I don’t think we have the special teams acumen to make that trade particularly valuable.

Everyone is always trying to get a bigger team, but it seems smarter to try and build a team of little guys. They just skate under checks and in between legs. Bigger guys would get tired bending over trying to hit them. Lower centers of gravity. Someone should try that.

Brady is painfully overrated because of who his brother is. He’s been much better this year than the last couple, but prior to this year he was a defensive black hole. So much so it significantly dragged down the rest of his impact.

One Nathan Gerbe is trash, but 12 of them would be ELITE

I always went for the 2 skinny, 1 fat, 1 medium strategy.

Why are we even discussing trading Bratt for Tkachuk? Realistically a better trade package for everyone involved is our 1st(top 10 pick), Mercer, Holtz & we can even throw in our 2nd. We even have Casey available. I think Ottawa would prefer the 1st Mercer Holtz package over a Bratt package just like we would prefer it. They get 2 nhl ready now wingers to play in the top 6 & get a top 10 draft pick out of it. They want Casey (I know half of you claim Casey is untouchable but I beg to differ, they can have him too) I don't see how we wouldn't be able to land Tkachuk if he was truly available for trade.

Not sure if this was talked about but I mean if that's what Rags fans wanna waste their $25 on then good for Amanda but she really should have been able to figure out who it was for lol...

The one funny part of this is that the video is that it’s from Tuesday, not only is it dated “2 days ago” but she’s at a home game.

Rempe was back from his suspension on Tues… and he was a healthy scratch in the Rags home game vs the Jets.

Also, they don’t seem to understand the definition of trolling here.

Amanda has zero idea that Rangers fans paid for this. I’m going to shock the Rags fans, but if/when she found out the “Matt” was Rempe, my guess is shouldn’t care. They paid their money, they got their video message.

When someone has zero idea that you interacted with them, and if they didn’t give a shit if/when they learned more about it later, you didn’t troll them.

The popular phrase that comes to mind here is “rent free”.

If I were her and found out, I would go… “oh no… thanks for paying for my lunch for this 60 second video!”

It’s like the fans who thought taking a picture on our ice was a form of trolling. You paid… to be on our ice. Congrats for having less money and a Devils logo in your picture.

Brady Tkachuk has never even been to the playoffs, and is currently captaining the one of biggest disappointments in the NHL.

Also - the idea that anyone will be able to "kill" Jesper Brett has no basis in reality - no one has been able to catch him clean because he has fantastic spacial awareness and can move in circles around anyone, that's just as important as being big.

If Brady Tkachuk had a different last name people would care less about him - he is mildly interesting in that he hasn't seen a shot or hit he won't take/dish - regardless of the outcome.

Brady Tkachuk would actually give us a major element we lack right now, a net front presence on our PP.

I would try to keep Bratt though, considering how ridiculously important he is for this team, and swapping him negates the benefits too much.

I don’t really care about hypothetical Brady Tkachuk deals though, because I think there’s zero chance Ottawa trades him this summer.

Even if he was grumbling about being unhappy, they would get just as good a return next year, so they can wait and try to get better next season.

Brady is very good, basically elite offensively?

While it’s very important, I think up to a certain point skating has become a little overrated.

86 is a better skater than Bedard, but Bedard is already the superior player.

Even if 1v1 Brady for Bratt is a net neutral, I’ll take the more physical player knowing what we know now about this team’s weaknesses.
