I just use it as an example. Max “Ben Lovejoy” Verstappen could race wearing a blindfold and he’d win. The carry part is that Perez is also at the top which means everyone else is racing for third place most of the time.

Forget the PK minutes, they may not play period.

Zero percent chance Hatakka plays when everyone is healthy. Nemec may get scratched as well, they already did it to him once when Marino and Sigenthaler were back.

The best move would be 7 D with the goon out for good. He does nothing but take stupid penalties. Keep Smith in purely for PK and the odd 5 on 5 shift.

It's honestly remarkable how long we kept trotting him out there, willingly or not.

i’m actually surprised vitek is really injured and not playing in san jose. i was almost certain it was one of those phantom injuries where they just said “hey we can’t play you right now, uhh, your hamstring is injured if anyone asks”

the Devils have 12 games left, meaning they can get a maximum of 24 more points. They currently have 72, so 96 is their max.

Detroit also has 12 games left, and they have 78 points. So if they get 19 more points in 12 games, we can't catch them.

Philadelphia also has 12 games left, and they have 79 points. So if they get 18 more points in 12 games, we can't catch them.

Still gonna be a few weeks before any clinching scenarios.

I don’t think people realize how difficult it is to jump three spots when you’re 6 points back with just 12 games left. You need a scenario where all three teams they want to jump go .500 or worse for the remainder of the season AND the devils would need to win like 9 of their last 12. In gambling terms, it’s basically a four leg parlay. The odds are wildly slim and it would take a true miracle.
