It’s far from certain. NRD who is very good with this stuff said that talks haven’t really moved on Meier yet, it’s just preliminary kicking tires. He also confirmed the Devils have checked in on Horvat and Kane, but talks haven’t progressed anywhere yet. This place is going to meltdown when Buffalo gets Meier.

Yea Buffalo should. Just send a deal around Quinn or Petreka as a centerpiece.

He could but it's hard to blame a guy for not wanting to take less than he's proven after Nico/Jack got deals for more than they'd proven. Now I'm obviously not saying we shouldn't have given them those deals as I've always said that was the smart move. Bratt wasn't offered the same luxury and instead had to prove it. He's now proven it.

It should be a factor, this season has to be by his most enjoyable since his rookie year. Bratt has played in 1 playoff game.

I said before the season started that worst thing would be for Bratt to have a season as a good as (or better than) than last season while the team had another bad year.

He said he wanted to win here in the off-season.

I know most players typically say that sort of thing but if the team tripped over its dicks again into another losing season, then that’s a hypothetical future goal rather than something he’s enjoying right now.

I don’t think Fitz’s position is crazy as long as both parties can eventually meet on a number somewhere. Many players aren’t just looking to getting the highest amount of $ than can get, winning is actually a consideration too.

I can’t think of a single time she’s ever tried to pedal any type of BS rumor…she has never pretended to be some type of news breaking insider.

If she says it’s true, I have no reason to think she’s lying. I’m sure this info is coming from someone she trusts and believes.

Oh, idk. Maybe because he's big and fast and a much more valuable quantity than Johnsson. Probably for the same reason GMs are going to waaaayyyyy overpay him next year.
