anyways, wondering if there is any shot Palat is back this evening? maybe they just didnt want him to play a back to back? Hes practiced in full like 5-6 times already
This would be a good tune up for the Rangers game. The timing of the Stein piece makes his return seem very close.

So my trade idea might be feasible? Cool

Or this

To NJ:
Nedelkovic
Vrana
4th round pick

To DET:
Blackwood
Sharangovich
Johnsson
Vrana has been better than Sharangovich, but he just gets injured too much and he's got the personal issues going on. I'd pass on that.

I'd rather not take Nedeljkovic back, as I really don't think he's better than Blackwood, which is very rare for me. We'd be taking back one of the 5 regular NHL goalies that are either as bad or worse than Blackwood.

Unless we just planned to waive him and he was a contract/body to take back.

He'd probably get claimed too, due to his play 2 years ago, but at this point I seriously feel like he may be less regarded and coveted around the league than Blackwood is, if not for the fact that Blackwood is ideal height for a goalie, while Nedeljkovic is just too short and only a handful of goalies his height in the last 20 years have had long term success in the NHL or made any kind of a career out of it.

There's literally just Bernier, Halak and Saros.

That and maybe he “ could” have played last night but this gives him a home game to make his return ? Home game where we get last change so we can somewhat shelter his minutes / line matches ? . I can see him coming back tonight and ease him into the game with better control and not tossing him out there in his first game back against the Rags where it can be a pretty chippy game ?

If Palat does come back tonight, who comes out? Holtz would've been the obvious candidate, but after last night I'd like to see if he can build off that game. Maybe Boqvist comes out instead?

Zetterlund and Sharangovich got the least amount of ice time last night at 11:27 / 11:28 - more than 1:20 less than the next player. Zetterlund's ice time has been really low the past 5 games, so he could also be the man out:

it didn’t prevent him from playing lol.

last time we went through this, i literally provided a slovakian interview he gave where he said everyone knew he wasn’t going to finish that contract. it wasn’t a secret. i’ll ask you the same question, did you think he intended to play when his salary dropped to $1M? literally EVERYONE knew he wouldn’t, and because of bullshit contracts like this the league doesn’t allow them anymore.

if you want to believe his stopping of treatments when his salary dropped was one big wacky coincidence, you do that. everyone else knew what this was when he signed it.

You’ve never taken that medicine, try taking bunch of for years while doing something like playing pro hockey and get back to us. And his production and play was fine in his last year, are you arguing he disliked playing hockey?

What is your argument? That he’s lying about what he experienced in the article? That if he was making a bigger salary he would have gutted it out for another year? If he made less the year before he would have quit earlier?

Nope, you figured it out, all Hossa cared about was his salary. Not how he felt every day while playing or how he felt about what this medication was doing to him long term.

You know what’s really up, no one can fool you with their fake sob stories about bleeding body sores and weekly blood tests at the hospital.

The players are all liars and the anti-LTIR Sherlock Holmes know all. Every time.

I don’t like people who support something in bad faith which hurts people or insults normal intelligence, all sides. I’m not the problem.

He has an instagram where he follows.

Thats where im ending my discussion in this.
I agree with you

Although at the same time, I have plenty of people I love (family) who have certain beliefs and ideals that absolutely disgust me and that I find unacceptable. And I certainly think everyone has a right to believe what they want, no matter how abhorrent I find it to be.

And I try not to find out too much about players personal lives, as sometimes this type of thing could ruin it for me.

I already find Marty to be a somewhat sleazy person, for what went on back in 2003, but I've managed to not let it ruin my opinion of him as a player. I actually find cheating and all that sickening, even though it's a safe assumption that at least over half of the players have done it or actively do it.

That something is bad faith political propaganda or anti intellectualism, on either side, which either hurts people or hurts the planet. Jan 6th and Trump is obviously a part of that. There is propaganda on the left side as well I do not like. This is why I have never once in my life registered for a party and always remained independent. When I see people in my life, professional athletes I follow, etc, willingly support these kind of things, it makes me very very sad. So yes, when that poster asks, “who cares?”. Many many people do. Many in this country just want normalcy, the rest pick sides and are straying further and further away and making the division worse.

OK, now I’m done.

Fair enough and thanks for clarifying. I don't follow either person, so I don't know how active they are in any of this stuff or obviously what their beliefs are. I personally think that you may be reading too much into this and their actual beliefs, but who knows. I did like things much better though when we didn't know as much (particularly the political leanings) of athletes and other celebrities - I don't think anything good has come of it.

Luke is gonna be a huge addition on the backend because we lack high end skating defensmen. We have alot of strong skaters back there but not one who really is a burner. Really want to see how involved in the rush Luke can be at the NHL level. Having him and Jack as puck carriers could be a nightmare for other teams 5 on 5 and especially on the penalty kill when trying to prevent zone entries.
I'm just waiting for a Hughes-Hughes-Mercer/Shara/Bratt group in OT.

There’s a gap, but it doesn’t look that huge. Both excellent finishers. Both career 14% shooters.
Shara's also got more defensive utility and doesn't have the off-ice issues. He won't cost $5M next season. And he seems like a nice guy to boot.

I don't think there is any gap at all. I'd rather keep Shara than pick up Vrana.

Chico yes

And Haula. I couldn’t resist :naughty:

What a pair back there.

I got Chico, but at first I thought the second one looked like Brian Rolston.

But on second thought, I didn't think that made sense because that would be reaching pretty far back for material.

I don't think Vrana is realistically an option, but my 2 cents on that anyway is that realistically we can afford to add one more Top 6 forward and still afford keeping our other forwards (or replacing at similar cost). Vrana is one of the elite finishers in the league, but I'm not sure if he is the guy that sets us over the edge to cup contender. You've got to be really selective with those last pieces because the cap flexibility disappears real quick as the ELCs and bridge deals wear off.
