Ah, Game 7 from 2003 on NHL Network, a welcome excuse to melt into my couch.

Even if it's some kind of limited release, I wish the Devils would release some kind of greatest games DVD/Blu Ray/whatever collection. I have a bunch of old Mets games that way, even picked up some Giants ones when they came out.

England has rugby and American Football is a more developed version of that for the most part. Don't be fooled by the helmets and pads which have developed as the players have become bigger and faster. You are still trying to run a ball across the goal line or throw it across (that may not be ok in rugby?).

I don’t like rugby either. My father in law is big on his rugby, I’m a football man.

And yeah no, you can’t throw the egg forward in rugby. Sideways or back only, you can kick it but the ball is shaped like a breakfast item so it just kinda flails around and 20 stone men jump on it and each other.

Or something like that. Silly game.

"Fairly broad info but it's been 3 times in 4 days that I've been told that there has been an exchange of calls between CH and the Devils. It will eventually become clearer, but I'll give you what I have."

Severson? Their RD is definitely the place where Defense goes to die. Don't know what they'd be willing to give up. Owen Beck and a 3rd?

Honestly, rugby is more akin to pre-forward pass hockey than American football. Maybe today more analogous to Euro-style football (soccer).

Maybe Blackwood and/or Bernier - they have a goalie issue now, right?

Ah, late offseason speculation to get us over the last hump. It’s beautiful.

Arizona also killed our 1st round pick that year, the Devils would have probably walked away with Holtz and one of Rossi/Perfetti/Askarov. They got the Mercer pick out of it so it's hard to be too upset, but that last John Hynes parting gift losing to the Coyotes was brutal.
I wouldn't trade Mercer for any of those players.

Just when I was trying to figure out how to deal with 4 1/2 more weeks until pre-season hockey. :D:D:D

Dude is basically a Coleman replacement. He is an absolute animal and wouldn’t be surprised if he puts up better numbers than Blake one day. I’m uber high on him.
Is that a reasonable comparison? Blake was a two way player that provided strong defensive and PK value. I would expect Zetterlund to be a bottom 6 scoring winger that gets PP2 time.

I don't see a strong comparison.
