Lou absolutely deserves his flowers from the org.

Terrible post 2012 years aside, the guy was such an incredible figure in Hockey. He is The Manager, I've always likened him to Sir Alex Ferguson (for any football fans here). The only blemish is that Sir Alex knew when to go out on a high, Lou didn't.

Still a little over a month until preseason, right? Then we just need something different to talk about.

Ok, here's an idea: I had a nice run circa 2010 through 2015 or so where some of my friends and I would figure out a Devils away game to get to during the season; so far that's included a couple trips to DC, one to Boston, one to Toronto, and one to Montreal. Life plus the Devils' struggles being what they've been cut into doing more of that (not to mention the way the COVID seasons were structured), but anyone thinking of trying a road trip this season?

I'm really tempted to get to Ottawa...I know, the arena is Out Where Christ Lost His Shirt, but I haven't been to Ottawa since I was about 12 and I just remember it being a beautiful town, plus the game's on a Saturday afternoon, so pretty easy to plan around. They get to Raleigh, Sunrise, and Pittsburgh in the last two weeks of December, for what that's worth, and there are assorted Saturday games in Boston, Chicago, and Montreal.

A Devils HFboards road trip would be pretty awesome if others are down to pick an away game that is within driving distance say Boston , Washington DC , Montreal , Pittsburgh or Montreal. Most people have been to the closer arenas like MSG, Philly and Islanders arenas. We could get hotels or airbnbs and stay a night to take in the city.

Opinion like much of what gets posted here. Watch and learn:

Lovejoy is the best player in NHL history.

No mater where the discussion goes I’ll tell you you are wrong eventually getting to Lovejoy’s education and presence and things like him being a member of cup teams and that NJ got worse once they traded him. I’m sure there are metrics that won’t favor Clarke. It’s ultimately an opinion. “Best” and “Worst” are subjective terms and can be defined to fit various predetermined results in different contexts. I’m surprised we tread this ground so often but it does kill time in the summer and at least keeps us from watching the media coverage after the Jets game against ATL. Wow what a mess.

Dude is basically a Coleman replacement. He is an absolute animal and wouldn’t be surprised if he puts up better numbers than Blake one day. I’m uber high on him.

Then I know what my next jersey will be.

thinking about it - would love to see a Wood - Haula - Zetterlund line.

That line could attack you with insane speed.

Hopefully, that line would use the speed effectively.

More important than speed is "finishing.' that would be "insane" to watch the speed to get them into a position of "finishing" with a goal each time. Since that wouldn't be a top 6 line "the speed" they could create would be wasted without scoring.

In a normal year, the play-in round doesn't exist so Arizona would've missed the playoffs again.

Meh. I was able to watch thr NFL games on what seems like basic cable tv in our hotel when we stayed in London a few years ago. There were British announcers calling the games so it must have some decent following over the pond.

lol how wrong, Alex Ferguson left and old and average team and he knew it when he jumped ship to retire. That title they won in 2013 before he left was one the worst seasons (quality wise of the league) in this millenium.
