Brunner and Gusev.

Brunner had one ridiculous goal... and Gusev was one of the bright spots in a bad season... but then they disappeared.

There's a really short list of players that provided some fun when they were here for a short time. Those two and Andrei Loktionov are on that list.

Tbf, I think Gusev got destroyed by the rink size. IQ + hands were NHL caliber, it's just that his skating absolutely mangled him on a smaller rink and especially when the NHL is so reliant on speed + being able to skate way better than European leagues rely on.

For the spot he scored, Clarkson looking goofier than usual after a goal and Biron's reaction of wtf just happened, the timing and then the Rags fan behind Clarkson giving him the bird after scoring.

I don't understand slotting Thompson ahead of Haula. He has not proven anything worth playing over Haula.

It looks tailor made that the Devils traded for Haula to be the 3C.

If he doesn't do well, then you swap them. Not that big of a deal. Haula isn't anything special though. Main thing is getting rid of Mcleod though.

Actually I'm working on it. I ordered the Rodecaster Pro which is a podcast console and it has a bluetooth channel so I can have people call in and patch them right into the show. I definitely wanted to do some episodes taking callers on stuff.

That would be cool. I'd definitely support that especially if you have an in with Ryan. Definitely gotta have Ives on there at draft time

This is all a crock. You'll hate whoever comes in here next and it won't matter who it is, whether it's Nemec or Hughes or whoever, you'll write the same BS about him. As long as you see hockey in terms of 'the big mistake', you will never like anybody who doesn't just play like Siegenthaler. And you need guys that play like Siegenthaler, but he's not better than Severson because he makes fewer big mistakes, because he can't do anything on offense.

Severson will probably be playing elsewhere next year, which is fine, if he wants a big long-term deal he won't get it here and I can imagine a lot of teams in Canada being interested. He's not a 'dedicated offensive defenseman' as if such a thing ever existed - if it did, it went away by the year 2000.

Aside from the personal attack, which is your MO, what exactly is anything of value in this post? Is there a point? I know you find your opinions to be unchallengeable, and yourself pretty important as the gatekeeper on a message board, but honestly: show me one sentence in your post that has anything to do with my op. Did you just see the name of the poster and want to get a shot off, bc pretty much everything in my post describes why the guy is obviously so polarizing to the fanbase.

He produced at a 34 point pace with mediocre line mates. His second half was very strong.

Your post was dripping with condescension for Damon Severson, which is why I responded how I did. If you can't see how writing a post like that is deeply patronizing towards one of the best players the Devils have had over this sorry stretch. Damon Severson's not going to the Hall of Fame, he's just a borderline 1st pairing RHD who figures to have 4 or 5 more good years in this league. Describing him as you did was ridiculous to me.

And you come at me with the weakest message board argument of 'I don't hate anyone'. Yes, we get it, you aren't going to go slash Damon's tires after a contest, it is just a game, we all understand that here. Jesus christ. What a tiresome response. If this is the end of our correspondence, I consider it quite fitting, but I doubt very much it will be
