so, just to be clear, Jesper Bratt and Brady Tkachuk are not even comparable in your opinion?
They are comparable to a point but Tkachuk is by far the more valuable player right now. Again, back to the point of Ovie, you were comparing Bratt to him. No one else did.

where the f*** did I compare Bratt to Ovechkin? Because I said he had a better even strength scoring rate last year...(which is a fact)? So that means I think that Bratt is a better player or better career? NOW who is the one reaching?

and again, the "Tkachuk is far more valuable" is your opinion. Most of the other outlets, who track these sort of things, completely disagree with you. But let me guess, you know better? Come on man.

Again, over the past THREE total seasons, Jesper Bratt is 29th in the NHL among forwards in even strength points per 60 with 2.44. That is among ALL forwards. That is better than:

Mikko Rantanen
Patrick Kane
Alex Ovechkin
Filip Forsberg
JT Miller
Timo Meier
Brayden Point

to name a few. This notion that Bratt is a one year wonder is nonsense.

Yes, what I posted was a fact. Statistics are facts. That doesn't mean I think Bratt is better than any or all of those players...but its one barometer that shows that "hey maybe this guy is really good!"

Sorry this offends!

Unfortunately, no matter how many times we think that "I PLAYED, YOU DIDNT SO I KNOW MORE THAN YOU!", goalzz are all that matter, big boi >> smol boi, GRIT, etc are being weeded out of the game...you come in here and realize that hey maybe we are still ways away from that being true. Its sad, really.
no one said that skill hasn't made it's way back into the game over size. The smaller skilled players are definitely back. As for playing the game, if you've played the game at a really any level you wouldn't be comparing Bratt to Brady and trying to defend Bratt as the better player right now. All those nights of edge work, flow drills and silky mitt competitions actually do allow you to be a better judge of players than those that have learend the game through EA Sports. Even though....it's in the game!!!!

probably the biggest reason Jesper hasn't signed yet is because someone showed him this thread 🤮
If Bratt does not sign, I blame @DevilDoggo for all the insults he threw his way. :sarcasm:

But in all seriousness, can this end already?

I want bratt to be signed for whatever contract (for better or for worse) so we can then debate accordingly using actual concrete FACTS for a change instead of assumptions.

who is more valuable...Patrik Laine, or Jesper Bratt?

I already know your answer, but humor me.

Nah. I want Bratt long term. As long as we can. Remember I did say that I rank Mercer higher? It doesn’t mean I don’t want Bratt on 8*8 deal.
If things will go to arbitratio, I hope they will sign ~6 mil 1 year deal and than he shows he is the same Bratt ant they will sign 8*8 deal and he will got 70 mil in 9 years.

There were a lot things I wanted and Fitz did it. The problem is most of those things were the things I waited. And I can’t say Im waiting the best case scenario. I think they will sign 1 year deal but will not sign long term after half of the year. Im feeling pessimistic and I don’t like it.

Once more....

I made assumptions so I'm not exactly going to get on a soapbox and act like I was above the fray here.

Once we finally get a contract signed, we will have some actual facts to discuss.

So stay tuned for the not-so-exciting conclusion of :

And btw, uh we can do this now? I love statistics. If I have a really small sample set of a ridiculously volatile stat, and then I change the numbers it proves me right on the interwebs.
Priceless.

Oh btw, his SV% is .891if is next game was like the Winnipeg game. See? Works for me too.

He wouldn’t play the next game because his hip wouldn’t allow him to play hockey though? Because injuries are real things.

I got snippy because you posted this and it
was a bit infuriating to me.

“There's going to be a real surprise for the section of the peanut gallery who believe that Vanacek alone will elevate us to a playoff team.”

Vanacek isn’t that good but he was literally the best we could do in a horrifically bleak goalie market.

And here you are, somehow trying to gloat, before the season starts, about how not good he might be for us.

No one sees him as the great savior, they just didn’t think 1) giant contracts to Kuemper and Campbell were all that appealing 2) lol at thinking those two guys were even signing here. There were no other good choices, look around. The Cup champs are going with the not very good Georgiev and fragile china doll Francouz. The Leafs voluntarily traded for Matt Murray. Willingly, on purpose. It’s madness.

People here just want two solid healthy NHL starters for once, just for a crazy change of pace after years of not that, and you keep dragging them for it.

Yeah, Yeah, we have the worst team defense ever in history. And your example is a defensive pair made up of two guys not on the team really proves it.

People here don’t actually do the hiring or coaching. People here have criticized the defensive schemes and Ruff. Just because we won’t call next year’s team “goalie killers” (because, uh, that’s a bit much) doesn’t mean we don’t care about team defense.

How many starts and GP are the 6 guys not named Blackwood going to get next season in the NHL? They got 58 starts with us and played in 70 games.
