Bratt is a better play driver + skater + defensively than him, only thing Brady has on him his goal scoring which is harder considering Brady skates like he has two left feet and sits at the front of the net.

Better along the boards, around the net, has a frame that Bratt just doesn't have. Hits like a truck, willing to throw down, nobody would mess with Jack if he was on his line. It isn't a big difference between Bratt and Brady imo, but I would def prefer Brady. He is also 2 years younger

The entire comparison came up for "comparable wingers" that are being paid big money, since the original poster I was responding to didn't even think that Bratt deserves $7 aav on a longterm deal, which is of course nonsense.

You're missing my point.

He could just sign Geersten (or some other Goon off the scrap heap) who would not cost an arm and a leg to provide that "muscle" or whatever to protect Jack while still keeping Bratt.

Besides, what if Brady gets hurt? You lose not only one of your best players, but the so-called "Protection" for Jack as well. A double-whammy, so to speak.

Also...mentioning Ovechkin in response to my suggestion was pretty strange and I'll leave it at that.
