I know every MFer in this entire HF universe is currently double checking these numbers...I had to twice it was so unbelievable.Kevin Fiala 283 points in 419 games . 675 PPG - 55.35 Point Pace
Jesper Bratt 203 points in 307 games .661 PPG - 54.22 Point Pace

You can get male golden retrievers to eat anything with or without movement. It doesn't have to be edible if you just make it smell interesting.Probably not very well...But you can get fish to eat anything with the right movement.
Or Tyce Thompson multi-year deal.
Or Miles Wood on a one year deal for $3 million.Watch the Devils make an eyes open emoji announcement tomorrow, have us all F5'ing then it turns out to to be just the next announcer
But if you want us to play along with the simply looking at points game, lets do it:
Brady Tkachuk 3 seasons before signing his big contract.
18-19: 22 goals, 45 points, 71 games. 52 point pace.
19-20: 21 goals, 44 points, 71 games. 50 point pace
20-21: 17 goals, 36 points, 56 games. 53 point pace.
Jesper Bratt in those three seasons:
18-19: 8 goals, 33 points, 51 games. 53 point pace.
19-20: 16 goals, 32 points, 60 games. 43 point pace.
20-21: 7 goals, 30 points, 46 games. 53 point pace.
So yeah, I'd love to know where this notion that "Jesper Bratt is a MUCH Better overall player than Brady Tkachuk. In basically every aspect of the sport" is coming from....
"Woody's Back!!!".Or Miles Wood on a one year deal for $3 million.
I'm gonna need some preparation H.
Tkachuk is an atrocious defensive player while Bratt is passable, and Bratt is better offensively....?
EVEN if you were to tell me that they are on the same level (they are not), that would mean Bratt should get $8 million longterm then right?
Easy to argue that Bratt has been way more consistent than Nico or Jack ever have.
I love Jesper Bratt, but players like Brady Tkachuk are unicorns in the game today. They're just so so valuable and I don't know how you can deny that and call yourself a knowledgeable fan at the same time.
If you're strictly talking points in 2022-23, you're right.
However, through three coaches Bratt has found himself on the bench (and at times in the press box) due to inconsistent or disinterested play in the other areas of the game.
Unlike the other two, he is unable (or unwilling) to do things like defend, forecheck or kill penalties when his speed suggests he could be effective in that part of the game.
again I think that because of his last name and who is brother and dad are, that Brady gets very overrated. He is a nice player. He is NOT a "unicorn" or any kind of elite player.
Damn it! And here come the pretzels.Concrete Info

I'm done. Kept me from sleeping on a slow day at work though.
keep it going folks!
The big fat one is my favorite.Wrong Tkachuk
It's way too risky to think like this. He'd be one year from UFA.I think they're much more inclined to open up the checkbook and give Bratt a long term deal next year:
1.) Much more cap space
2.) Coming off two good years makes it easier to commit
3.) Eats up more UFA years
It'll cost more to do a long term deal next year but I think we'll not only be more eager to pay him more, but feel much more safe about doing it.
Obviously they both know where each other stand on a long term deal. I think this arbitration is more of a "franchise tag" year than anything else, just buying time to get the real deal worked out.
Glad you aren’t our GMWhy? Because I actually believe in the player and if you get him for 8 on a long term deal, that will be a savings compared to what he’ll get in UFA. If you don’t believe in the player, fine. I do. He was our best player last season and I wouldn’t be at all surprised if he is again.
Hell, I'd have one hand on the trade phone right now if I were Fitz. It's way too risky to think like this. He'd be one year from UFA.
He needs to be locked up long-term now, can't wait a year. If we are in this situation next year, we are going to be forced to trade him.
This guy reminds me of a point guard on the Nets from 1979.
Glad you aren’t our GM
I honestly don't think enough is made out players that can stay in the lineup...Between Nico and Jack this is becoming a real problem for us...But look at those games played difference between Jesper and Brady...Now I like Jesper. I am of the inclination to pay him big dollars...But if you want us to play along with the simply looking at points game, lets do it:
