The issue is if Schmid comes back down to earth or someone gets injured, you’re royally f***ed. Nothing wrong with adding experienced depth.
Schmid is still waivers exempt (correct me if I’m wrong). That’s going to drive this. It’s his bad luck actually because he’s the potential number one. After what he showed against the Rangers, under immense pressure, he’s got that potential.

Awwww hell nawwwww.

Literally EWWW to all of these.

But I wouldn’t mind a couple of them for the AHL to be the third string guy. Like Brossoit.

Problem is that all of them will get NHL deals.

Korpisalo last year is almost like if Blackwood had an up year. Go back and look at all the .8xx seasons he’s had. He’s had like 3 adequate seasons in the league out of 8 total.

Raanta is injury prone, old and burnt crispity.

Halak is even older and even more well-done than that steak you forgot about on the grill.

YUCK to literally all of these, other than Brossoit, because I think there’s a greater chance you can sign him for the AHL, but he did come off of season ending injury in the playoffs.

Korpisalo will get an NHL deal because of last year and likely too much.

Raanta probably will too, but he’s too old and injury prone.

Halak is just way too old and probably shouldn’t be in the league anymore.
Yup and yup and yup.

I personally think he's not as bad as people often think.

21-22 was abysmal (dont look up his stats) but apparently he was battling a hip injury for a long time and eventually got a surgery for it to end the season early.

So I would say last year was good by those standards. Coming off a hip surgery and posting .913 in the hilariously bad Columbus team and then having a fine run with Kings after the trade. EDM really scouted him down during the playoff series though.

I think he'd be a fine backup for most of the teams. Out of those options listed I would take him as the backup/1B role if were talking similar contract for all of them. I wouldnt pay much though.

He's overrated by some people due to his bubble run but I also think hes underrated by many people too. He seems like an average goalie to me if you put a decent squad ahead of him.

Id be surprised if we’re priced out by Boqvist unless someone sees an opportunity to unlock untapped potential.

He should be cheap, and he has versatility that is useful for us depth wise.

lol Bob's the best. All 3 of LeBrun, Dreger, and CJ talked about the Leafs in a row and he made a Toronto Sports Network joke
