After doing 10min of thinking, seeing the teams after centers (Calgary, Van, Colorado, Toronto to name a few) I'm targeting either Kadri or Bunting for a 3C role, trading Norris for Boeser (retained) and a 2nd or 3rd, using those assets on Bunting or Kadri. Kadri I would expect moves if Calgary is after Cozens, and Pittsburgh is stocking up.

I think our teams looks better on paper with those guys, stronger top 9 (Giroux can move to LW), feisty 3rd line (Perron-Bunting-Amadio ex), and 4th line energy (Gaud/Ost/High/Gregor).

Calgary has said Kadri is going nowhere.

I really do not understand fascination with Boeser. At all.

Before anyone says 40 goals, 73 points.... yea, his linemate was JT Miller who scored 103 points.

And outside of that season, he never hit 30 any other time. AND he is weak defensively. And he is injury-riddled history himself.

No. Thanks.

Ottawa: Rantanen
Vancouver: Norris
Carolina: Boeser + Ottawa 2nd + Lekkerimaki/Soucy

Bobby Ryan type albatross contract waiting to happen.

I think Reichel has more value to the Hawks than having Halliday in their system. He's young enough to still break out

You're probably right.

I think the right move to make for this team is to try to buy-low on a young forward that needs a change of scenery.

Would have been happy with trading for Kakko, Tomasino or Kaliyev. Prefer that kind of trade over an older rental forward that costs more.

GMs say a lot of things... that was early season before they started targeting Cozens. That's ok though I prefer Bunting for age reasons
That was last week, not early season There was numerous articles on it, here’s one of them, as report by Freidman.

*Tips hat*

It'd be funny if we could somehow be in the running to get Marchand. It'd probably take something like Amadio + Forsberg plus a pick or something to make the money work, unless Norris winds up on LTIR for a significant stretch.

Until our amateur scouting gets the overhaul it deserves, I don't have a problem trading away picks, they're just gonna be used on low skill, high PIM players anyways.

Was just thinking that after listening on the team but he's not hard enough on pucks

Norris and a 2nd for 3 months of Rantanen?

Also who is replacing Giroux on the top 6 if not someone like Boeser?

Nashville didn’t give up anything for Ryan oreilly (FA).
He’s signed cheap the next couple years.
Wonder what it would take for the Ontario born C

It sure would be nice right now to have a guy like Sillinger or Coronato instead of Boucher.

(no I will not let it go)
No 2 firsts rounds is enough for a rebuild. After that you have to draft long term third liners

Isn’t he not that cheap? And also not great anymore

I would offer up scraps for rentals, nothing more. On the table:
- 3rd-7th rounders
- JBD, Matinpalo, Sebrango
- Sogaard
- Bourgault, Boucher, Pettersson
- Nordberg, Eliasson, Ellinas, Moore, Stanley, Andonovski, Beckner, Donovan, etc

Use it on a guy you might want to re-sign for the bottom 6. Anything beyond that is just foolish.

ROR has been playing very well, he would be an amazing add

In Friedmans discussions with Adam Kierszenblat he floats the Norris' name.
In the article Norris is mentioned in this paragraph:

The Canucks want to add more depth up front and also need some extra help on the blue line but the focus seems to be up front," he said "Ottawa's Josh Norris seems to be a player they want as he was roomates with [Quinn] Hughes in college. That's the name to watch."
OK. Ya, I missed that, but see it now. I think it's just Kierszenblat speculating from what I can gather though.

I think we could find out and perhaps have already started to find out what life will be like without our #2 & #3 centers though. I think people see Norris salary and think swapping him out will absolutely result in the team being better. I hope so, but think this is harder in practice than it looks. I get the injury concern though, but kind of curious what his current injury actually is and how long he’ll be out.

So, the Hurricanes have given up on the idea of a run for the Cup 2 weeks after acquiring Rantanen?
