Yea extremely skeptical we would be giving up assets for Hanifin where to justify the trade you have to extend him. He would get what 7-7.5 at least? With Hamilton on the books and Hughes and Nemec needing contracts too?

Just makes no damn sense.

We most likely are moving Vitek out along with Mercer in that trade so money earmarked for them and the alleged scumbag would go to Noah instead.

He turned down 7.5 with the Flames but it's been reported he wants to play in the US. I don't think it would take more than than, maybe even 7. He doesn't play on the powerplay at all.

Giving up assets for Hanifin extended makes sense to me, means they think Sieganthaler isn't a long term top 4 dman for this team. He'd probably go in the deal imo. Hanifin seems like he'd age well also, and wouldn't be counted on for offense/PP work, which he's capable of doing but not at an elite level.

It would be an upgrade on Siegenthaler and for 4 more million a year...I can see it being enticing as the cap grows. I just worry it's a very expensive move here. The Avalanche stole Devon Toews...is NJ going to find anyone like that to fill out their roster? Or just pay up big time constantly for the final pieces of the puzzle?

The crying over the toffoli trade is peak devils fans in here. Yegor is not better than Toffoli. He’s faster that’s it. He’s not a better player.

Some of you genuinely have no idea how to evaluate talent or how teams that win cups get built.

A lot of you want to keep holding onto every player we draft that shows an ounce of skill thinking they’re gonna create this super team.

Mercer is a player with good counting stats over the years and meh actual impacts. He relies on other players doing the heavy lifting. He’s a complimentary piece. Holtz even more so though his shot is good, it’s not utilized and his worth to the devils is using him as a trade piece to strengthen holes in the team.
Lol ain’t that the truth

Okay, is it just me or do like all the pictures of the players wearing the Stadium Series jerseys look like the jersey is photoshopped?

Siegenthaler, Hanifin, Luke/Bahl

Or Luke sits a little bit....I think that would cause quite an uproar around here

I actually think Hanifin would be a nice longterm fit. He is honestly the exact type of defenseman that fits this team. Also, he’s definitely better than Severson.
