I'd keep Lazar, he's cheap for next season too. Toffoli I think to a team like Edmonton could help the Devils get enough assets for a goalie.

Yeah, Hamilton and Nemec are strong on the right side. Marino is superfluous.

Only reason I say Lazar is because centers seem to be going for ungodly prices right now and his cap hit is so low. I wouldn’t trade him for like a 4th round pick.

I'm keeping Marino and Lazar but the other three? Sure. I bet Smith could have some value if teams want depth. Miller is interesting though, I like his game so if he says he'd sign on the cheap I would keep him although he doesn't really have a spot next year unless he's cool being 7D.

Toffoli brings a decent return, more if we retain. Bastian is nothing more than a mid pick.

Agreed Marino and Lazar we keep. We seen from this year how frail we are on center. We can't afford to lose another one. Marino we need too because who knows how Dougie will be when he gets back. Usually someone is always injured anyway. Best case scenario if all the RD are healthy someone can play LD since we're a little weak there. If I'm Fitz I start shopping Toffoli sooner rather than later. Retain as much as possible on him & get a late 1st. Use that 1st in a package for a starting goaltender in the offseason. Get a goalie, fire Ruff and that's a successful offseason for me.

This is easily a more disappointing season than our garbage rebuilding years. At least in those years we knew we would likely suck because the talent was lacking. And it's a real gut punch to come out of that with a historically great season, only to take a huge step back to mediocrity again immediately.

also I think I'd try out Hattaka-Nemec out. or even Hughes-Nemec and Hattaka-Marino, I think Nemec needs a new partner basically lol

I like Lazar too, but if you can get a 2nd plus for him, which you just might in this crazy market, you have to do it.
