How can you do a hit piece on Nieds? Bringing back the he's so smooth he looked lazy trope and debating that?
re: Kane, how would the Devils even be able to afford him capwise lol...50% retained and send back Jonsson?
Dear god...I forgot about it too, yeah okay ding him for cheap-shotting a cheap shotter, makes perfect sense. Was probably the only suspension in his entire career too. It’s regarding the Peter woroll slash to head. Which I totally forgot about and honestly watching the clip doesn’t even look that bad esp for now.
I asked ChatGPT to "write a song about the NJ Devils in the style of Bruce Springsteen"
Verse 1: In the Garden State, Where the meadows meet the shore, There's a team that brings us pride, And makes us roar.
Chorus: The Devils, the Devils, They're the team we love to see. Skating hard, and never backing down, They're the pride of New Jersey.
Verse 2: With the red and black on their chest, They take the ice with fire in their eyes. They play with heart, and never give up, Til the final buzzer sounds.
Chorus: The Devils, the Devils, They're the team we love to see. Skating hard, and never backing down, They're the pride of New Jersey.
Bridge: We'll be there in the stands, Cheering them on to victory. We are the faithful, And the Devils are our team.
Chorus: The Devils, the Devils, They're the team we love to see. Skating hard, and never backing down, They're the pride of New Jersey.
I always thought about how awkward that must have been for Rob, who was Worrell's teammate at the time lol.Dear god...I forgot about it too, yeah okay ding him for cheap-shotting a cheap shotter, makes perfect sense. Was probably the only suspension in his entire career too.

Regarding the Patrick Kane/hawksstuff, the guy who covers us for the 4th period ( I know I know ) has us in on Domi. Would be a nice upgrade over boqvist on the 3rd line an wouldn’t break the bank…. Just a thought
Johnsson has to go and you probably need a 3rd team to broker the deal and retain. The other elephant in the room is Severson, who is obviously on an expiring contract. If you ship Severson out for assets instead of letting him walk for free in the offseason, that resolves the cap issue without needing to get a 3rd team involved.Maybe I'm missing something, but how are we even fitting Kane's contract at 50% retained unless we're shipping multiple contracts out?
My assumption has been Johnsson is waived again or a cap dump in any trade, but easier to do without giving up more assets for a slightly cheaper player than Kane.Johnsson has to go and you probably need a 3rd team to broker the deal and retain. Agreed, it's not necessarily that they would move Severson out just to make room for Kane, but more that if they decide to move Severson for assets (as its own calculus), then the room is there for Kane.My assumption has been Johnsson is waived again or a cap dump in any trade, but easier to do without giving up more assets for a slightly cheaper player than Kane.
I know some here disagree with me, but I'm not convinced the team is better +Kane and -Severson unless L. Hughes is about to pull a Makar style introduction to the NHL.
Good point on the distinction. But I still don't like the math on going for it with a pure rental while also weakening what has been our biggest advantage, which is the D depth.Agreed, it's not necessarily that they would move Severson out just to make room for Kane, but more that if they decide to move Severson for assets (as its own calculus), then the room is there for Kane.
It's very likely that Severson isn't coming back and there are teams that would give up considerable assets for him. It's possible the Devils think the assets are worth it over keeping him around in a limited 3rd pairing role for one playoff run.
Johnsson + Blackwood out and we can fit Kane at 50%Maybe I'm missing something, but how are we even fitting Kane's contract at 50% retained unless we're shipping multiple contracts out?
I read up on that and they gave him 10 games for that slash. thats crazy players dont get half that nowDear god...I forgot about it too, yeah okay ding him for cheap-shotting a cheap shotter, makes perfect sense. Was probably the only suspension in his entire career too.
I’m not sure how long it goes for, but I’m assuming it’s gotta be for another year after this at least, if not even longer.Speaking of Fitz, does anyone know his contract situation with the team? Is he signed long-term? I know there were rumblings of an extension in 2021, but has that been finalized? I think I missed some parts lol.
They don't get half that now because we have an actual GOON (George Parros) as the one calling the shots in the "Player Safety"(Ha!) department.I read up on that and they gave him 10 games for that slash. thats crazy players dont get half that now
