Absolutely. Toronto especially. They're supposed to be the young up and coming elite team, the fact that they've been passed by a younger and better team before they even won a playoff series will not go over well.

Next week is going to be tough as both Edmonton and Toronto will be looking for revenge after shocking them in their barns

Toronto has listened way too much about the talk of how they aren't big and tough enough. They've neutered themselves big time.

Yeah I also think it was a heavy handed response to the playoff loss the best team of the decade, Brunette should've gotten the job from them. Both years they played well against TB and Vasy stoned them twice, 2021 was all Bob shitting the bed though. Nothing he could've done as coach if you're 10.5M goalie doesn't show up and then last year their star forwards disappeared.
I don’t think he ever wanted to hire him. They got caught when Q had to be fired. There was the report from Weekes that they were going to hire Torts. But Panthers started hot like this and he had to give him the season.

They have horribly managed their cap as well and not injected enough home grown talent into the team.

The team has hardly ever trailed this season.... again check the numbers.

That is due to improved offense not defense or goaltending.
I think you are offering an opinion based on something where the vast majority of the audience is well aware of thr nunbers but have also watched alll the games that you have admittedly missed. You are just stat watching on this one.

It's simply easier to play defense and make saves up 2-0 vs down 2-0.

The numbers you are quoting are the effect not the cause. These goalies this year are simply never playing from behind for large majorities of every game.
True, but how many times did our goalies, let in the first shot of the game or two of the game the last few years?

How in the world can you say them hardly ever trailing is not due to improved defense or goaltending. That just makes no logical sense. It’s a combination but the fact that they’re playing well defensively and their goaltenders have been average stops the other team from scoring goals that would put them in the lead.

We all know they haven’t trailed much. Everyone does. Goaltending and defence is a massive part of that.

Package blackwood up for whatever we can get. We don't need his ass.
I don't think anyone would take him unless it was for free on waivers. And they know he's due a qualifying offer of $3 million next year and just isn't worth it.

I think someone will sign him for $1.5 million for a year, as long as we're not dumb enough to do it.

Vanecek is already signed next year for $3.4 million and the year after. The writing should be on the wall here.

It's so nice reading other teams boards after games, and see them saying "the Devils are the hottest team in the league, and do this to everyone." Instead of "The Devils were lucky, we played like shit against a bad team." They're actually using use as a measuring stick for their team when they play us.

We suppress high danger chances well though - top of the league in fact. I think it's a systems thing
Because they are playing with a lead more often. Easier to keep the play to the outside and wait to deploy your transition when you don't have to press.

They’re like 8-0 or something after giving up the first goal. You obviously haven’t been watching.

We don’t run that swarm bullshit much anymore on the back end, no two D men chasing behind the net. They play a much simpler system back there now. Since McGill got here our defense has been freaking lights out, it’s night and day compared to last year.

Sure we’re putting up goals but it’s all stemmed from the back end, forwards are buying in too.
