This is the best start on franchise history so what do you think?

Sure. I’m just saying that the goaltending has made saves in certain games where last year they lose. The team is good this year but look at it this way. MBW is 4-2 with a 2.8 GAA with a save percentage of 880. Look at VV or Schmids numbers in comakrion. There are a few games they lose in this run of the goalies are around 880 instead of above 900. Either way it’s a good team.

It's simply easier to play defense and make saves up 2-0 vs down 2-0.

The numbers you are quoting are the effect not the cause. These goalies this year are simply never playing from behind for large majorities of every game.

Well if he plays like this and the teams continues to have a large cushion he won’t be playing only every other week.

I don't really think defense is a factor either...play with a lead and the defense gets caught flatfooted far less frequently. You don't have to press and make that deep pinch you make sure your business is taken care of first....it all stems from playing with a lead

Team defense is definitely improved and is in fact the best I’ve seen in over a decade.

The team played worse last year when the goaltending went to hell but that’s a separate issue.

You’d have to look at how NJ plays with a tie game or when trailing and look at the league averages for that and compare . Of course playing with a lead helps. It’s like the Saints under Sean Payton with Brees. Teams knew they’d score and if the Saints got a 14 point lead it could snowball as opponents opened up and took risks to try to keep up. That’s obvious.

Yeah I also think it was a heavy handed response to the playoff loss the best team of the decade, Brunette should've gotten the job from them. Both years they played well against TB and Vasy stoned them twice, 2021 was all Bob shitting the bed though. Nothing he could've done as coach if you're 10.5M goalie doesn't show up and then last year their star forwards disappeared.
