Of all people I think everyone knows I'm not one to start hyping up a goalie after a few games, as we've seen other goalies, especially with limited ability (Kinkaid) play this well for much longer than this, but his AHL numbers have actually been very good so far. Unlike Blackwood and Kinkaid.

I like the look of our goalie pipeline. Schmid and Daws have potential. Can’t wait to see how Brennan progresses in juniors too. He looks promising.

You’ve missed a fair amount of the steak . They’ve had games where the goalie has to bail them out in thr first period and games where the defensive structure supported the goalie well. I think that’s how it’s supposed to work but there have been games the vast majority noted they would have lost last season .

The next generation of hockey fans lives in my house. They have no interest in watching bad players swing their sticks. They can watch MMA for violence or just see what’s on social media. They are impressed by top notch skill. Thue watch some individual sports and some NBA and NFL. NHL needs to match those other sports in terms of highlights . They live in a nontraditional hockey market and are exactly who the NHL needs to cater to. Us old people will watch anyway. We can complain all we want.

I agree 100% for what it's worth, it's just how bad the NHL has been with these things that it's probably long winded to think they care. I don't want McDavid to get hurt bad but it's gonna take something like that to do something about the league, hell maybe even Bedard if someone headshots him early on. It's one of the things us hockey fans can't even explain to people who don't watch because it's so aggravating to see as diehards.

The goalie made saves

A breakaway save in the 2nd.

A really good save on a shot in the slot that could have squeaked through his arm if he wasn't quick to react. Think it was still a 2-0 game at the time.

A pretty good save on a deflected shot in the 2nd, which I think was before we scored the shorty.

One goal against on a shot that Nico helped put in from close range.

He was solid.

I assume that he takes the backup role when he comes back and Schmid goes back down since he doesn't have to go through waivers.

But I think in the off season he gets shipped to like Buffalo for a third.
