This is literally just last years team again. Win the analytics battle while looking like dogshit on the ice. Play a completely perimeter offensive game and not generate anything dangerous down low. Let up a low volume of shots, but half of them are straight-up uncovered or painfully dangerous opportunities and the goalies get shaken confidence because their defense is giving basically no support. The same people complain and say that the stats show that we are just unlucky or we are winning the analytics battle and the wins will come even though the on ice product is flat out horrendous and shows literally nothing promising.

It wasn't just Bastain getting hurt. It was the fact that once he went down the Devs haven't been able to effectively roll 4 lines, which up to that point they were. Since the coaching staff doesn't seem to have any faith in Holtz, they have become a 3 and 1/2 line team.

definitely. as I said before its roster construction.
the superbestfriends line was the glue in the sense that they banged bodies and checked hard. they brought the intensity level of this team up.

notice how on the winning streak we always came out very intense after scoring a goal?
seems indicative of a team that rides on emotion alot. emotions and confidence are down now, so we now we suck.

How you could see this team play half hearted and constantly lose to bad teams and think suddenly they were going to turn it on against top teams was insane.

They NEEDED to bank points the first two weeks because of how tough these next two weeks were and they did the exact opposite.

Now it's possible they don't win another game this month.
