Couldn't watch this one. What's the tldr?

Another game of god awful officiating in the becoming long line of god awful officiating. Carolina completely controller the game. Allen kept us in it hard the first 2 periods then let in a stinker at the start of the 3rd right after we went up 2-1. Pathetic 5 and a game on Timo gave them the lead in the 3rd.

I think they would probably go with Kochetkov if it comes to that, but that’s not much better.
Kochetkov would definitely play over them. I think they'd hope Andersen is back, but he can't be relied on. He's hurt more than literally any goalie in the league I'm pretty sure.

With our easier second half of the season, Devils can absolutely overtake Caps. Would be ideal to play a Penguins Bruins or Senators in round 1.

More games played means our remaining schedule is going to be less bunched up.

Plus with a lot of the tougher games behind us, we absolutely have the runway to pile up the points and win the division.

No reason to be all Doom and gloom over our chances right now.

Meier's knee trajectory never moves on the play. Here is the opposite angle.

crazy in that play Necas changes his knee position twice from when Meier started his glide (where he ended up never changing his knee positioning). what did the refs see in the video review to call that a major

oh well at least this was a split series, refs sucked but they need to play better when they're in Carolina but take care of business in the 2nd half of the season and they may be able to get first seed or at least home ice advantage

What I’ve talked about recently is why I don’t like the matchup playing them in Carolina. The lack of depth and their ability to blanket our stars with last change really neuters us.
1.) We don’t know what the final rosters will be come playoffs. We will have more depth. 2.) As others have pointed out there are a different team home and road and the season series bears that out. Finish ahead of them and get home ice (or even better win the divisions and not have to worry about it in round 1).
