Devils fans throw beer on ice, Leafs bench. Cause delay of game.

I am from Toronto and will say the NJD were the way better team tonight. Leafs got some solid goaltending that kept them in it.

Moving forward, the Devils are a fast, super high skilled team. Exciting to watch. Give them a few seasons to mature and look out.

As far as the leafs go, they are finished. Failed rebuild that is entering a rebuild that mostly fans can’t admit.

We're missing 3 of our top 4 dmen and were the better team through ~30 mins against a team on a 13 game win streak.

We are 4th in the league on points and ~6th in ppg despite the above and our best player being on pace for the lowest goal scoring season of his career.

I understand if you don't believe they can advance in the playoffs because they've obviously had troubles, but your take on the Leafs is a bit absurd. They're not entering a rebuild.

We had a ref call back a goal because of a pick play in Game 7 at home. It's happened multiple times this season in the regular season already and nothing has been called.

That wasn’t a called off goal. That was a random shot into the net during dead play after a flagrant interference penalty.

Well yeah, that's the entire point. The league's consistency is awful so can't be mad when the leagues fans call them out on it.

The solution isn't to call them out when they actually make the right calls though...

Again, as I said before, I understand fans in the arena that don't have access to better replays being frustrated (even though nothing warrants stuff being thrown on the ice and potentially players/refs).

I'm pissed that officials colossally f*** up the majority of games in this league and we have to spend our time talking about them instead of the product put on by the players. The league doesn't seem to care that their product is tainted this way.
This was litterally a nothing game. Try losing in the first round to f***ing Tampa Bay due to shitty refereeing. I mean that might be in your future this year but still...you are bitching to the wrong fan base.

First goal was crap. Barely any contact, he had time to reset and he was able to fully extend.

Second the NHL admitted it was called incorrectly (should have been a penalty).

Third one I was fine with, that was the clearest no goal.

We lost game 6 of the SCF to bullshit officiating, so yes I know that pain. Every game matters for points in the standings, and I'd just love to see some consistency for once.

But there's no way that was a penalty on Tatar.

The NHL is backtracking here because them "admitting" it adds some sort of consistency to the outcome.

Window is closed and Matthews is lost in space. I have a feeling he will be traded after this season. The team is getting older now and the goaltending is awful. After they lose Matthews and Nylander, that is it.

The devils look amazing.

I think goals 1 and 2 should have counted. Goal 3 was an obvious call if Haula never touched it with his stick, which it seems he didn't but Sportsnet never actually showed that replay.
I dunno. Ive seen less infractions called against us too many times. Ive already lost interest. Its a nothing game. Im over it.

Murray went down like he was just hit by Scott Stevens. Pretty nice dive there

You're a casual and have never skated before if you think he dove there. Murray is looking the other way and has no idea that Tatar is about to skate between him and the net there. It's fully on Tatar to know where he is and do everything to avoid contact there, he did not do anything to change course.

JT is going to need a safe space tonight so he can suck his thumb undisturbed.

Why? He leads the team in goals now. The man is having a fantastic season. Right now, his safe space is the entire world. It's not safe for opposing goalies though.

I guess we're even after Murray two hand shoved the net off after we had over a minute of zone time.
Yes, those are frustrating.

Toronto has had that (the other way) 3 or 4 times this year already, and it's always frustrating that the officials don't call it a penalty.

It should have been a delay of game.

Except that Murray skated into the net and "nudged" it off as he got up.

Against Vancouver, earlier this year, a Canuck defenseman just pushed the net off, all alone, and the play was just called dead.

I agree. I'm just saying for all the "rulebook" people. If the NHL admits it wasn't right one way or another, obviously that argument is out the window.

I might be a dirtbag for my opinion but as long as they didn’t hurt anyone go devils fans, that was hilarious to watch

What? 😂

Goaltending has been fantastic this year, much better than anybody expected. Murray has a .926 and Samsonov a .921 (both top 8 in the league).

Not sure why Matthews having a sub-par 20 games outweighs the rest of his career and there has been absolutely no indication besides other fanbases speculating/hoping that Matthews wont re-sign.

For us this was #14 - it would have been the longest streak in franchise history. That definitely added to the frustration, like some kind of force was preventing us from getting there. Fans may have not had this same reaction in #15. This was not a nothing game. It stings a little for sure. Still glad they tied the franchise record, but it would have been really nice to get that one more and be on top. But their effort was at least there and they went down fighting (and so did the fans hah).
