Maybe you should learn them instead. I actually posted the rule from the rule book above where clearly states that once agoalie was out of the crease he's not interfered with unless the attacking player intentionally runs into him which isn't the case here.

But he did intentionally run into the goalie. The Devils player had 2 choices, take the normal route around the goalie or cut the goalie off who's rushing to get back to the net. The Devils player choose to impede the goalie by getting in his way, whether or not he made contact the intent to slow the goalie down was there. It's the same if a goalie is trying to get to the net from the bench, they're allowed a straight line there.

Any adult who throws items on the ice should take a step back and remember this is supposed to be entertainment. None of this even matters. It's better to be a casual fan so you're not emotionally invested. That way you can enjoy the sport without being too disappointed if your team loses.

I didn't throw anything but good lordy I'm happy I don't look at life this way. Oh well, nothing matters so why get invested in anything. At that point might as well say we are all gonna die anyway so why do anything. Woofffff.

Yes they do, which is when Kane just got stepped on. Do you think that maybe this would increase if you were legally allowed to kick the puck in the net when people are way more desperate to dive in the crease (which is a small area) than in the open f***ing ice (much bigger area, obviously.)

What a disingenuous argument. "This illegal thing doesnt happen often, why is it illegal at all!?"

I dont know, genius, maybe because its against the rules so people try it less, leading to a smaller number of incidents.

It’s way easier to just say “no, it’s never happened, the risk is entirely imaginary”

Kicking at a puck at the blue line is not at all the same as kicking it in the crease when the goaltender is trying to cover it with his glove. It is ABSOLUTELY a safety issue.
It’s perfectly legal to kick at a puck in the goal crease that a goaltender is trying to cover. So it’s absolutely not about safety or kicking would be illegal.

I mean, the NHL and the teams want this level of passion in the fans. You can’t whip them into a froth, sell them beer, and then pretend to be surprised when they do dumb shit sometimes.

I’m not saying that fans shouldn’t be passionate or there shouldn’t be beer at hockey games, but let’s drop the act and accept that when you mix those things, sometimes things will go sideways.

But you can kick it in the crease if you kick it to pass. I think either all kicks are fine or no kicks at all. It's these loose definitions, judgement calls, calling everything in a vacuum and in the moment that make hockey such a joke compared to other well established sports. There needs to be clear binary rules, no ifs maybes and unlesses.
Kicking to pass in such an area is so rare I can understand why that isn't an exception.

Cool, you know it’s legal to kick the puck in the crease right?

How the f*** is it imaginary when its happened this season? Are you daft? Skates cut people literally every year, kicking (with f***ing skates on) is going to add to that.

Not in the crease and not by a kicked puck. Are you arguing to take skates out of the game?

The risk is getting cut with a skate blade. The risk isnt "getting kicked".

The risk grows exponentially when youre allowing people to kick in the goal crease to score.

And kicking the puck happens almost exclusively with a sideways motion on the slate. Zero risk of cutting someone. Boy, you just can’t admit you’re wrong, can you? Ridiculous.

The risk grows exponentially when youre allowing people to kick in the goal crease to score.

Zero evidence for this.

It’s an invitation for you to make another attempt at defending your position.
No, it's condescending for no apparent reason whatsoever. I already explained my position responding to someone else, so if you would like to continue and discuss it you can refer to that post.

When the puck is in the crease, what is more common action, trying to score or pass?

You realize there is more than one team on the ice, right? Half the players on the ice are trying to move the puck away from the goal, not toward it, so less than half of kicks in the crease would be attempts to score.

Statistically I don't believe you are correct.

Well they don’t keep statistics on that, so I cannot be statistically correct or incorrect.

You said the NHL can’t allow kicked goals as it wouldn’t be safe for the goalie because it’s not safe for someone to kick at a puck that a goalie is trying to cover.

But that’s not true as it is legal to kick at a puck that a goalie is trying to cover.

So you’ll need to try again if you want to provide an example of how it’s not safe.

I already said that because kicks in the crease meant for a pass are so uncommon that I understand why there was no exception made for all kicks in the crease. Statistically I don't think a kick in the crease is nearly as common as a kick in the defensive or neutral zone.

I mean, the statistic exists, but it just hasn't been actually determined. I just mean in terms of one being more common in an NHL game, that's all.

What did you come in here to get sympathy from devil fans? lol. Murray humiliated your team and you're salty about it. This is why I love HF. It's the closest thing to licking salty tears. Instead I get to read salty posts.

Devils caved in the Leafs and lost cause of 3 disallowed goals, I'd worry about your own team before you throw shots at other teams. Devils have been garbage for a decade and still had a team make it further than any Leafs team has since 93'.

Bolded the only part that actually matters for you. This isn't a highschool essay with a word count, you can get rid of the rest of the fluff.

Sabres fans should have thrown things on the ice. 2 goals “blown dead” while the puck was loose in the crease.

Guess the league wanted to make it up to the Devils?
