Not much we can do about that as fans, but you can't question our loyalty to the team. We show up in good years and in bad. NJ's rink has been a ghost town since they started missing the playoffs. I respect teams like NYI who filled their barn last year even in a bad season. I've loved watching NJ this year, I'll still watch them, but that fanbase is toxic as hell. Bunch of grown men screaming f*** you, faces bright red, throwing beer at players who had nothing to do with the call.
Just a terrible look, and even worse that fans in here are defending it.
Hockey fans: „Our players are tough, unlike those diving soccer players acting injured.“
Hockey fans when a couple plastic cups get tossed onto the ice: „This is outrageous, won’t somebody think of the injury risk!“
Calm down.
Yes you are.I guess i can spin it too to say... it took devils top 3 D-men for the leafs to be out and injured to so called "dominate" while surrendering the first 2 goals of the game.
am i doing this right?
I would think that would've been encouraged at the time. Miss the old days of wrasslin, it's so watered down now.I don’t condone throwing stuff on the ice but at the same time I don’t feel like I have much room to scold anyone because I got kicked out of a WCW Nitro event in 1998 for throwing trash at the NWO. Wolfpack 4life.
You have to win a series to make the ECFYou say that like it's a negative. There is a 20 year waiting list and rarely an empty seat in the house lol
Anyways, was an exciting game. Devils players were diving for calls all night, but our AHL defence and backup goalie held the line. Hopefully we meet in the ECF, would be a great series.
Just might have to have a couple of these on standby in NJ for when the fans get sad:

Not a devils fan, my dude. Socialized in European soccer stadiums, though, and a bit amused about the at times performative celebration of tough culture in hockey stops when these guys that get hit by pucks and bodies all game might get touched by half-empty cans of 12$ beer.I'm sure you'd be delighted if opposing teams fans were throwing garbage and full beer cans at your players during the game and AFTER the game, absolutely classless fans in the arena last night.
and after every game the fans should get a trophy and a pat on the head for their good behaviour.
Terribly funny that you think the beer cans were full.
The first one was an iffy call but the other two definitely shouldn’t have been a goalI think the calls were correct, all I was saying is that you COULD argue them.
it was full beer

Any knucklehead that shows up to a game has the potential to get drunk and indignant even if they don't really follow the team that much. You have it backwards. Casual fans don’t care about a game enough for it them to get emotionally carried away. If a home crowd doesn’t get tangibly angry after three disallowed goals, you’re not playing in front of a fanbase, but in front of some causals with corporate tickets. Knowing the rules should lead to being able to recognize the correctness of calls afterwards, that’s all.
it was full beer
Haula said he got hit by stuff and it wasn't a big deal, he was just concerned for the staff without equipment. Marner is being absurdly dramatic when he's out there in full equipment. He can get hit by a puck on the ice but not a can of beer?
