I think we have, but I just don’t think Blackwood plays much into that equation.

I still say Vanecek or bust, though it’s okay to throw Blackwood in there at times.
Dude. At some point you need to give your personal hate a rest and be objective. The Caps game featured much tougher chances than any of Vanaceks games. The 'stinker' could be laid at Bratt and Severson and just about six other players doors before you even get to blackwood.

Tonight he gave them exactly what they needed when they sleepwalked through the first.

They've both been adequate

I see no reason not to give them a pretty even split for now. If one guy really takes off then great but no reason to just hand it to one guy when neither has separated themselves. MacK's also been the better goalie at 5v5. 9 GA on ~9 xGA. Vanecek 8 GA on ~5 xGA. Vanecek has been great on the kill with 0 GA on 2.5 xGA while MacK's given up 4 on 3 xGA. AS MacK has given up 15 on 13 xGA and Vanecek 9 on ~8 xGA. Both are a bit below average which is workable for us.

I'm not saying to bench him. I'm just saying I still feel nervous when he's in.

You say the Washington game was tougher than any game Vanecek has played. That’s fair.

And Vanecek’s game against Colorado was also better than any game Blackwood has played this year.

It was good, but honestly we dominated them and he got clear looks at most everything. I could argue that the first period tonight mb29 had more difficult action than VTEC had in the Avs game. Clear clean breakaway by Ovi and going post to post on tap in were tougher than what the Avs threw at him.

Tbh, neither has stood on their head.

Demkos game tonight (2nd period onward)was better than anything either of them did, and it started out fairly raunchy.

The sea was getting rougher and rougher. So they asked him, "What should we do to you to make the sea calm down for us?"

"Pick me up and throw me into the sea," he replied, "and it will become calm. I know that it is my fault that this great storm has come upon you." Instead, the men did their best to row back to land. But they could not, for the sea grew even wilder than before. Then they cried to the LORD, "O LORD, please do not let us die for taking this man's life. Do not hold us accountable for killing an innocent man, for you, O LORD, have done as you pleased." Then they took Jonah and threw him overboard, and the raging sea grew calm.
is it now jonahdoggo or devilsjonah or rangersjonah?

do we need a poll on the mainboard?

Will you stop with this shit? Every time you ask me to eat crow he comes out and delivers a stinker like the Washington game.

Enough is enough with the crow eating act on Blackwood. Last time you tied me down and I got food poisoning for days over it.

How about play well for a whole season?
don't wince like nico. how ever wide you turn, there is no way around it. you are playing against men here.

so take it like man and crow is comparatively fine food. others are on a daily doggo sh*t diet.

Next games Devils will play against hunters. I believe some people will show themselves after some games.
It wouldn't make sense for them to come out. Getting scored on my Mcdavid doesn't really prove the team sucks. It just shows how good Mcdavid is.

If Puljujarvi scores a hat-trick though then people will come out of their hiding places.:D

I’m ok with potential losses. Oilers is very talented team, our goaltending can’t be good all the time, and you just can’t win against everybody in this league. If they los, I hope they will not lose their confidence and take enough feedback. They are playing good, but some problems are there. They're more of a personal nature most of the time, but still.

Good to see Jack get rewarded.

Ryan Graves is clearly a cut below every dman but Smith. He’s no good.

I've seen people complain about Graves. I didn't follow him last season, but currently he is statwise doing great... 0.4 ppg and team leading plusminus with +8.

Yeah I don't think he's been pretty solid overall. He's probably the 5th best but he's been good, four years ago he'd be on our top pairing so it's not so much a slight to him but more of a positive on the core as a whole.

I think Mac's been inconsistent in the past. I want to see him keep up his play before I believe in him. Maybe it's like someone else here said... he flounders when he's overworked.
Blackwood is not a goalie that can play all the time and run into the ground. He does better with adequate rest. If you have 3 games in 4 days with the back-to-back, he should only be playing two of them max and not both the back-to-back ones. If you have 5 games in 8 days, he should only be playing three of them max. Lindy trying to play the hot goalie doesn't help Blackwood.

watched the first two periods last night and woke up before the kiddos to finish it this morning, great win

love seeing the scoring spread out. it looked like the hughes line got hemmed in their zone a bunch but they still had their share of opportunities.

overall it’s nice to watch good hockey again and not just root for individual stats

Kind of a messy game/win in my opinion. Slow sloppy start, travel and time difference definitely a factor. I think the Canucks played good offensively, but just had few defensive mistakes and not enough puck luck. I thought Graves had a rough game, whoever is suggesting that he's been great because of his +-, needs to realize he's playing with Marino who has been looking like a top dman in the whole league. Severson and Smith were also a bit iffy, with Smith taking his mandatory penalty that got the Canucks back in the game. MBW was good again, I think he's at his best when he doesn't play too often. Haula was pretty invisible, his presence and faceoffs are certainly a plus, but he needs to do more offensively. Boqvist is also starting to get into the groove and that line is finding some chemistry. Very valuable win, tough games ahead that will gauge the true level of this team.
