Well I'll state the obvious, we got a steal, period! We now need to acquire some help on the blueline, and I would think Zacha is the main piece we could dangle now.

Alone, no. Perhaps to the right team with salary retained + pick(s). I'd move the 1st for the right player as painful as it may be.

I'd move the 1st in a second for legitimate top pairing guy.

I wouldn't even consider moving our 1st for close to something extravagant, like Doughty or OEL.

The draft is freaking loaded this year and we acquired MoJo, not McDavid. Again, I'd rather move Zacha for a equivalent defender, meaning young with real solid upside or Henrique + picks for someone of less value.

His CA reltm are better then his CF reltm, though that probably speaks to other players on the team like ovie.

Soft perimeter player that doesn't drive play and had the good fortune of being placed in gratuitous positions to produce the way he did.

Again, despite that, I LOVE this trade. He was just drastically overrated by Caps fans and onlookers. He's a 40 to 50 point guy. He won't ever be a 50+ producer with the Devs. Ever. But this trade was a steal regardless.

Brilliant move by Ray. Full credit to him. He substantially wins the value in a deal yet again. Very pleased with this trade.

I wasn't in the crowd that wanted to trade Henrique a couple of months ago, but since then we drafted Hischier, traded for Johansson, and haven't been able to add a proven top 4 D so far. I think you almost have to trade one of Henrique or Zacha now.

Like others said, I'd much rather trade Henrique unless Zacha gets us something much better than Henrique would.

I'm not on the bandwagon with dangling zacha or henrique. They are both too important to our future.

Besides, any team looking for cap relief to land radulov or a big piece in a separate trade would want picks or prospects, and I think we could put together a decent package of those now.

I kinda agree with your point. I've watched mojo for a long time .. and he's always been a little josefsonesque in that he looks like he should be a top line guy but never really is. His points come mainly on the pp in a high powered offense.

But even with all that... He's a talent, and an immense upgrade and ridiculous value for a 2nd and 3rd.

We will all be complaining as to why he never lives up to expectations and salary at some point...

But I actually think he will mature and become a member of the core a very good devil's team going forward and all such complaints will disappear.

Fair enough, I just want my cake and to eat it too. MoJo adds depth to the current group and I like that.

I will tell you one thing, I wouldnt make any deals moving Henrique until everything with Kovy gets ironed out. If Shero can some how pull a rabbit out of his Kovy hat in the form of a valuable Dman then we are back in business.

Ha, yeah. Just spitballing a way to address the D issue without sacrificing offense and fit. Rad's clearly the top RW option on the market (that we know about), we have the space and we have the need.

I'm obviously not willing to match his term demands but he's out there. That's all I'm saying.

Of course, this doesn't involve anything with Kovy either so who the heck actually knows? I trust Shero though.

From listening to Ray Shero's conference call it didn't sound like he has an expectation of him playing RW. It'seems either center or LW from the sound of it. You still do that trade no matter what even if RW is the main priority but what's the solution?

There's legitimately tens of different solutions/scenarios that could play out. Its still way too early to even start to project what they might do here until the roster composition is more concrete.

I think Johansson pencils in right now as 2nd line LW. I don't think Zacha has that spot on lockdown.
