i'd have to agree. the only way yak will produce (maybe) is if he's with some talent. 3rd line is basically an automatic failure. unless we're just willing to see if he'll have luck the 3rd time around... i mean PTOs cost nothing

Minnesota may still be ripe for a cap casualty deal. $15M in space but have to pay Granlund & Niederreiter. Would have to be one of the kids though, not Henrique.

If a long-term defense deal can't be made, I'd consider sending a couple of mid-round future picks to Vegas for Perron & Garrison. Can fill the RW/LD gaps, and only 1-year left on their deals, so they can be deadline fodder to recoup what they cost, or better.

Soft perimeter player that doesn't drive play and had the good fortune of being placed in gratuitous positions to produce the way he did.

Again, despite that, I LOVE this trade. He was just drastically overrated by Caps fans and onlookers. He's a 40 to 50 point guy. He won't ever be a 50+ producer with the Devs. Ever. But this trade was a steal regardless.
