Step 1) I see Devils got Johansson, who I'm not a fan of, and go "oh ****ing great."
2) see what Devs gave up
3) ????? Source must be wrong
4) okay, both these sources must be wrong
5) hahaha might as well have given him to us for free
6) Not a fan of him, but great trade. Great great great trade

curious what your critiques are for him?

Minnesota may still be ripe for a cap casualty deal. $15M in space but have to pay Granlund & Niederreiter. Would have to be one of the kids though, not Henrique.

If a long-term defense deal can't be made, I'd consider sending a couple of mid-round future picks to Vegas for Perron & Garrison. Can fill the RW/LD gaps, and only 1-year left on their deals, so they can be deadline fodder to recoup what they cost, or better.

Without reading 325+ posts, can someone please explain Washington's logic in trading a young 20 goal scorer entering the prime of his career for a 2nd & a 3rd?

Does he have cooties?

They are right up against the cap. They gave Kuznetsov a huge contract extension and had like $4 million to fill out their roster.

They have no cap space, they need to sign other players, he had a limited no trade I gather also.

Soft perimeter player that doesn't drive play and had the good fortune of being placed in gratuitous positions to produce the way he did.

Again, despite that, I LOVE this trade. He was just drastically overrated by Caps fans and onlookers. He's a 40 to 50 point guy. He won't ever be a 50+ producer with the Devs. Ever. But this trade was a steal regardless.

Hall Nico Palms
Mojo Zajac McLeod
Rico Zacha Lappin
Wood Boyle Noesen

Put Nico up top to spread youth around a little. Tempted to put Jagr on Zajacs line and slide McLeod down to Zacha line.

Blender currently squeezed which I don't like, but it's a lot of talent to juggle.

Such an optimist.
